In a shocking decision, UAE batter Mohammed Zohaib has been sent home from the T20 World Cup, the board announced on Monday. The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) recalled Zohaib to Dubai after the player breached disciplinary guidelines, and the details of the incident would be released later.

However, the player has alleged that the sudden decision was taken due to his nationality, as the entire team management consists of Indian origin, while he is from Pakistan, and that is the reason why he was removed from the team abruptly. The player has also called for an official investigation as he feels injustice has taken place with him.

Zohaib becomes the latest entrant to question India

Mohammed Zohaib has become the latest entrant to accuse India of being biased. This year, the Indian contingents have been under the firing line, especially with the entire saga revolving around Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman.

When the IPL mini auction took place, IPL franchise KKR signed Mustafizur, and he was touted to be a key player for them. However, due to the growing tension between India and Bangladesh, the franchise was pressurised to release the pacer.

This infuriated the Bangladesh board as they threatened to boycott the T20 World Cup due to the injustice shown by the BCCI towards Mustafizur. Bangladesh was eventually removed from the T20 World Cup as many believed BCCI influenced the ICC to take this harsh call.

The Indian contingents was also accused by the PCB as they stood firm with Bangladesh, and the nation has boycotted the T20 World Cup match against India, citing their biased nature towards Bangladesh.

Now, Pakistan is standing firm on their decision to boycott the India clash as PCB chief, Mohsin Naqvi stated that they won’t play against the Men in Blue due to their bullying nature.

Controversial UAE to start their T20 World Cup campaign vs New Zealand

Amidst all the negativity surrounding the UAE side after Zohaib’s departure, the team will begin its T20 World Cup campaign with a tricky fixture against the New Zealand side.

The UAE squad features a blend of experience and youth as the team will play its third T20 World Cup, and will aim to go past the group stage for the first time. The team had a horrendous pre-tournament results as they lost against Italy in a one-sided battle. The Italians posted a mammoth 193/7, as the UAE bowlers surrendered in front of them.

However, nobody expected the Asian side to crumble as the team was dismantled for just 91 runs and lost the match badly.

As per the schedule, after playing against New Zealand, the UAE will travel to Delhi for their remaining fixture against Canada, Afghanistan, and South Africa. The team will start as underdogs against the Kiwis, but will fancy its chances against Canada and Afghanistan.
