England's domestic season has kickstarted, with the marquee English teams crossing swords in the County Championship. Apart from the gruelling red-ball tournament, the English teams will also lock horns in the One-Day competition as well as the Vitality Blast.
The Vitality Blast is England's premier T20 tournament, where marquee players from all across the globe participate. This year's T20 Blast starts on May 22, with Middlesex taking on Kent in the opening encounter of the tournament.
Talking about Yorkshire, the iconic cricket club will face Nottinghamshire in its first match of the competition. Ahead of the season opener, the Yorkshire cricket club has signed one of Pakistan's match-winners in white-ball cricket.
Hasan Ali joins Yorkshire for T20 Blast
In a significant development, the Yorkshire County Cricket Club confirmed the signing of Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali for the upcoming T20 Blast tournament.
Hasan Ali made his debut for Pakistan back in August 2016. He played his first match against Ireland in an ODI in Dublin. The right-arm fast bowler soon became a regular in the Pakistani team, establishing his stature as a proven match-winner in all formats of the game.
Interestingly, Hasan Ali wasn't initially a part of the Yorkshire squad for T20 Blast 2026. However, with an injury sidelining Naveen-ul-Haq from the tournament, Yorkshire have roped in Pakistan's proven match-winner to their setup.

Yorkshire official reacts to Hasan Ali signing
Yorkshire's General Manager of cricket, Gavin Hamilton, said that although the team was disappointed with Naveen-ul-Haq's untimely injury, the signing of an experienced campaigner like Hasan Ali has relieved them amid the English summer.
“Whilst we’re naturally disappointed to not see Naveen join us this year, in Hasan we have an exceptional replacement. He arrives with a wealth of experience and a skillset that we believe will be invaluable to the group. We’re delighted to have secured someone of Hasan’s quality at such short notice, and everyone at the Club is looking forward to welcoming him to Headingley next month," Gavin Hamilton was quoted as saying by the Yorkshire Post.
Hasan Ali's Pakistan career at a glance
Hasan Ali has represented Pakistan in 150 international matches, including 25 Tests, 68 ODIs and 57 T20Is. Primarily renowned as a white-ball specialist, Hasan played a pivotal role in Pakistan's historic 2017 Champions Trophy triumph, scalping 13 wickets in five matches.
Overall, he has bagged 254 international wickets, including 72 T20I scalps at a healthy strike rate of 16. His ability to swing the new ball up front and deceive the batters with his variations makes Hasan Ali a valuable asset for Yorkshire in the T20 Blast 2026.
Hasan Ali oozes remarkable form in PSL 2026
Hasan has exhibited sublime form in the PSL 2026 season. Playing for Karachi Kings, the right-arm pacer has scalped nine wickets in just four matches at a strike rate of 10 and an economy of 7.38. His red-hot form could be the reason why the Yorkshire County Cricket Club has signed him for the upcoming T20 tournament.
