Likewise, Novak Djokovic, a tennis star and legend of the game, has recently opened up about Indian cricket star Virat Kohli and his connection with the iconic cricketer.
Virat Kohli, who is known to be one of the most popular figures in cricket worldwide, was acknowledged by the legendary tennis player in a recent interaction, even though the two have never met each other in person.
Speaking about the exhilarating experience of connecting with Kohli, Novak Djokovic was candid in his confession about Kohli's stature as a legend.
Virat Kohli And His Connection With The Game Of Tennis
For the unaware, the RCB star has a deep interest in the game of tennis and is an avid follower of the sport. He has often been seen appearing publicly at tennis courts as a spectator alongside his wife, Anushka Sharma.
Kohli regularly takes time off to attend major tournaments, as he was seen attending Wimbledon 2025 while cheering for Novak Djokovic himself.
Incidentally, Kohli has also openly admitted that he is a major fan of tennis legend Roger Federer, and he also met him in Sydney back in 2015 before reconnecting with him at the Australian Open in Melbourne in 2019.
Kohli's interest extends beyond just being a fan of the sport, as he also became a co-owner of the UAE Royals, a franchise team in the International Premier Tennis League that featured Roger Federer.
Now, his active interest has become the foundation for his text-based friendship with Novak Djokovic, upon which the tennis legend opened up later.

Novak Djokovic Wishes To Play Tennis With Virat Kohli
Novak Djokovic was pretty excited when he opened up about his relationship with Kohli at Wimbledon. The star athletes follow each other on social media and have maintained their relationship by exchanging text messages.
Speaking about his admiration for Virat Kohli, Djokovic shared that he admires both his career and his game and is planning to visit India soon to meet Kohli over a game of either tennis or cricket.

"We have not met in person. We have texted. We have been in touch for the last few years, following each other, supporting each other, admiring each other's careers. Hopefully, I will get a chance to meet him in person and play some tennis, play some cricket. It will be nice, and I am also planning to come to India soon. So maybe that's where we can link up," Djokovic shared.
What Are The Greats Currently Doing?
It would be a great opportunity to see both greats of the game collaborating on a sports field, as the Indian star currently resides in London, too.
Meanwhile, Virat is currently struggling with fitness issues. Djokovic, on the other hand, is currently in London preparing for the 2026 Wimbledon Championships.
The No. 7 seed in Wimbledon 2026 is now chasing a historic 25th Grand Slam singles title after he had been sidelined since his French Open third-round due to a shoulder injury.
Kohli Mending An Injury
Nevertheless, Virat Kohli will be looking forward to joining the India squad after India concludes its Ireland T20Is on June 28. They will then visit England for a T20I and ODI series, with the ODI matches scheduled later in July.
Kohli now has plenty of time to rest, recover, and get the green light from the BCCI Centre of Excellence for the all-important clash against the Three Lions.
