New Zealand and Bangladesh are preparing to face each other in an exciting white-ball series next month. The Bangladesh team will host the New Zealand side for a six-match series. The tour will include three ODIs along with three T20Is.
Meanwhile, this series will take place after New Zealand completes its series against South Africa. In addition, this tour will mark the first visit by the New Zealand team to Asia after their recent defeat in the T20 World Cup final.
Therefore, the upcoming matches in Bangladesh will be an important opportunity for the team to return to form and perform strongly in Asian conditions.
India’s historic T20 World Cup victory
The previous international appearance of New Zealand came during the T20 World Cup final against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

New Zealand struggle during chase
When New Zealand began their chase, the team faced early trouble. During the powerplay overs, the side lost three wickets. Consequently, the scoreboard showed 47 runs for three wickets after six overs. This early setback made the run chase very difficult for the New Zealand team.
As the innings progressed, the pressure continued to grow. The batting lineup struggled to keep up with the required run rate. Eventually, the team was bowled out for 159 runs. Therefore, India secured a comfortable victory by 96 runs.
Among the bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah delivered an excellent spell and picked up four wickets in his short spell. In addition, Axar Patel also played a key role and took three wickets. Their combined effort helped India seal the historic win.
Security team visits Dhaka ahead of tour
Ahead of the upcoming Bangladesh tour, a three-member security assessment team from New Zealand has arrived in Dhaka. The team reached the city on Wednesday in order to review the security arrangements for the tour.
This visit follows the normal procedure used by most international teams. During such visits, security officials carefully check match venues, team hotels, transport routes, and other important arrangements. After completing the inspection, the officials provide final approval for the tour.
During their stay in Bangladesh, the delegation is expected to visit the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur along with several other facilities that may host the matches.
