In the latest events, Delhi Capitals' star bowler Mitchell Starc has finally broken his silence on his delayed arrival for IPL 2026. For the past few days, there have been several speculations behind Starc's absence, but the truth has been spilled. 

For the unversed, Delhi Capitals retained Mitchell Starc for IPL 2026 but the left-arm seamer didn't join the Axar Patel-led side for the pre-season training camp in Delhi. There were reports that Cricket Australia denied an NOC to Starc to manage his workload management. 

Mitchell Starc Reveals Injury Setback For IPL 2026

After days of rumours, Mitchell Starc has revealed the truth and also bashed the Indian media for spreading fake news. The 36-year-old put a story on Instagram where he clarified that he is nursing an injury.

Starc revealed that he is suffering from a shoulder and elbow injury and does not know the extend of his injury. Notably, he also issued an apology to Delhi Capitals' fans. 

"Despite the opinions and views of certain individuals with their platforms in and through the Indian media, I'm currently rehabbing and managing an injury in my shoulder and elbow of which I didn't know the extent of during the Australian summer," Starc revealed.

Mitchell Starc Slams Indian Media For Fake News On His Delayed Arrival

"These individuals have made some strong statements around involvement in the IPL and provided heavily misinformed opínions of players, preached them as facts, and claim to know my body better than me," he added.

"With that said 1 do acknowledge this injury setback and timing is disruptive to the Delhi team and 1 apologise for that and to the fans for not being available for the early part of this season. I remain committed to join DC, are in continual communication updating the team and will continue to do what I can to be available for DC asap," he concluded.

Notably, Delhi will play their first game on April 1 against Lucknow Super Giants.

Alysaa Healy Comes To Mitchell Starc's Defence

A section of fans were upset to see half-fit Starc not join the DC camp and raised the same issue in the comment section of Mitchell Starc’s latest Insta post. Meanwhile, Alysaa Healy jumped to her husband’s defence and issued an official update.

Healy, replying to user Anmol_Is_Here’s query ‘This is so unfair to us @delhicapitals fan that Hazelwood and Cummins, despite being injured, will be available for their teams but you won't be’ confirmed the injury.

“@Anmol probably cause he's injured, mate...if he can't bowl, how's he supposed to play?” remarked Alysaa Healy. Now, it is clear that Starc is suffering from an injury, but Healy didn’t reveal the extent of it or the time when Starc will join DC.
