Ishan Kishan-Vaibhav Sooryavanshi discusses DRS reviews [Source: X]After a convincing victory in the Duleep Trophy 2026 final, East Zone captain Ishan Kishan playfully confronted Vaibhav Sooryavanshi over his successful DRS review that set the internet on fire.Sooryavanshi and Kishan were representing East Zone in the Duleep Trophy final against South Zone. In the first innings, East Zone piled up a mammoth score of 708, courtesy of a 270-run marathon knock from Kishan. Naturally, South Zone struggled to absorb the scoreboard pressure in the second innings as they lost opener Ricky Bhui early.Vaibhav Sooryavanshi earns praise for successful DRS callIn the sixth over of the second innings, Mukesh Kumar bowled to South Zone opener Ricky Bhui, who appeared to edge the ball behind to wicketkeeper Kumar Kushagra. However, the umpire did not give him out. That is where Vaibhav took the lead. Fielding at slip, he was close enough to hear what was happening. He and Kushagra were convinced that the ball had taken an edge. Sooryavanshi repeatedly urged captain Ishan Kishan to review the decision. While the skipper was initially reluctant, he caved into Vaibhav’s plea.Interestingly, the UltraEdge technology showed a spike, confirming that the ball had indeed touched Bhui's bat.
