Jasprit Bumrah creates India’s T20 World Cup record

Jasprit Bumrah picked up sensational figures of 3-15 in his four overs in an innings where South Africa mounted 187-7. Bowling first in match number 43 of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Ahmedabad, the speedster dismissed the likes of Quinton de Kock, Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch in the high-scoring innings.

Through the course of his exceptional spell, Jasprit Bumrah also became India’s most successful bowler in T20 World Cup matches, surpassing Ravichandran Ashwin’ tally of 32 wickets. The senior fast bowler is currently sitting on a pile of 33 wickets ever since making his T20 World Cup debut in 2016.

Will Jacks help England stun Sri Lanka in low-scorer

England decimated Sri Lanka by 51 runs in match number 42 of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Phil Salt punched out 62 runs off just 40 balls with six fours and two huge sixes after the Englishmen were called to bat first in Pallekele. Despite Salt’s blitzkrieg, England listed just 146-9 in 20 overs. Jos Buttler continues to struggle in T20Is for England as he was dismissed for a sluggish 7 from 14 balls.

In response, Sri Lanka bundled out for just 95 in 16.4 overs. Will Jacks picked up figures of 3-22, and received much assistance from Jofra Archer, Liam Dawson and Adil Rashid as England started off the Super 8s with a comprehensive win.

London Spirit acquire RCB staff for Hundred 2026

The London Spirit franchise has acquired several members of the RCB coaching staff for the upcoming Hundred 2026 season. RCB head coach Andy Flower, batting coach Dinesh Karthik, bowling coach Omkar Salvi and director of cricket Mo Bobat will all be joining the London Spirit team.

Apart from the aforementioned staff members, the Spirit has also hired Malolan Rangarajan (RCB scout) and Freddie Wilde (team analyst) for the upcoming edition of the 100-ball tournament.

Quetta Gladiators appoint Saud Shakeel as PSL 2026 captain

The Quetta Gladiators franchise has appointed discarded Pakistan star Saud Shakeel as the new captain for the upcoming PSL 2026 season. The Gladiators confirmed the same on February 22, i.e., roughly a month prior to the launch of the tournament in Pakistan.

Shakeel has been a part of the Quetta Gladiators since the 2023 PSL edition. He has so far played 22 matches for them, aggregating 560 runs at an average of 31.11 and a strike rate of 130.23. Notably, the 30-year-old is currently out of Pakistan’s ODI contention, and is yet to play a single T20I for the national team.

India loses first ICC white-ball match since 2023 World Cup final

South Africa whooped India by 76 runs in their respective opening match of the Super 8 stage of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Ahmedabad. Batting first, a David Miller half-century fuelled South Africa’s total of 187-7 in 20 overs.

In response, India bundled out for just 111 in 18.5 overs to register their first defeat of the tournament. The outcome also marked India’s first loss in any ICC white-ball event since losing the 2023 ICC World Cup final. Moreover, the defeat also ended India’s unbeaten run in T20 World Cup matches after 12 wins, including four in the ongoing tournament at home.
