On Sunday, March 1, India and the West Indies will lock horns against each other in the last match of the T20 World Cup 2026 before the semi-finals. It is a virtual quarter-final as the winner will join South Africa from Group A and take the last spot left for the last-four round.

India are fresh off a massive win over Zimbabwe, while the Windies faced embarrassment against the Proteas. However, the upcoming game is interesting because Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the event, and neither of the two teams have lost a World Cup game at the iconic venue.

India vs West Indies Preview Match 51, Super 8

Talking about India, they made two changes against Zimbabwe. Axar Patel returned to the team, and Sanju Samson also replaced Rinku Singh. Ahead of the Windies game, India have a tough call to make, which is to continue with Samson or bring back Rinku, who has rejoined the team after performing the final rites of his father, who passed away on Friday.

Notably, Samson opened the innings for India and did his job, which was to provide the start. The CSK star scored 24 (15). Therefore, he is likely to get a nod ahead of Rinku. Meanwhile, Axar Patel was mediocre and registered the figures of 1/35 in four overs.

For the West Indies, they have their plans clear, which is to have batting depth and go all guns blazing. The Windies have a no-anchor policy, and they are likely to stick to their plans. Thus, it will be exciting to see two aggressive, intentful teams have a go against each other in West Bengal.
