India will face New Zealand in the third T20I of the five-match series on Sunday at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. With India leading the series 2-0, this match could turn out to be a series-decider.
IND vs NZ 3rd T20I: Toss update
Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Talking about the playing XI, India has made two changes. The team has included Ravi Bishnoi and Jasprit Bumrah in place of Varun Chakaravarthy and Arshdeep Singh.
For New Zealand, Kyle Jamieson has been included in place of Zakary Foulkes.
India have looked dominant in the first two matches of the series. In the second T20I in Raipur, Suryakumar Yadav ended his T20I fifty drought with a fluent knock. His return to form will be a big boost for the team ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup.
The 'Men in Blue' have also been flexible with their team combinations. Ishan Kishan stepped in for Tilak Varma and delivered a solid performance. In the bowling department, Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy worked well together.
Despite scoring over 200 runs in the second T20I, New Zealand failed to defend the total, which will be a major concern for the visitors. Their bowling attack struggled to contain the Indian batters, and improving in this area will be their main focus going into the third match.
This series is also an important preparation phase for both teams ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled for next month.

IND vs NZ 3rd T20I: Captains Thoughts
Suryakumar Yadav (India Captain): We will look to bowl first. The wicket looks good, we heard there will be dew later on. So, yeah, we would like to chase tonight.
[What he told the team] I think let's try to repeat the good habits. Be the same way, enjoy and be fearless. Take your own calls, the two batters and bowlers in the middle are the best judges inside.
[On Shivam Dube as bowling option] I think it is good. Someone like Shivam, Hardik and some days Abhishek chipping in with a few overs. It is always a big boost. Hardik has done that for a long time. Shivam has been doing it recently. Good for us. We have 2 changes. Arshdeep and Varun are resting today. Jasprit Bumrah and Ravi Bishnoi are in."
Mitchell Santner (New Zealand captain): "I think it (the pitch) will be pretty good again. Lets see what it does and put a good score on the board. I thought we batted really well (in the last game). With the ball, we came up against a very good team with some good hitting.
You take what you can and then, move on pretty quickly. With the nature of different games and different venues, you turn up, see what is going to do and go again. Neesh (James Neesham) was going to play, but he is crooked, so we have brought Jammo (Kyle Jamieson) in for Zak Foulkes."
