The legendary all-rounder is yet to fully recover from his injury, the one which also kept him out of several Mumbai Indians matches in this year’s IPL 2026 season.Pandya was also forced to be excluded from India’s squad for the white-ball tours of Ireland and England, and from the short T20I trip to Zimbabwe a couple of months ago.The availability status of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli has also been revealed for the ODI series against the West Indies starting later this month, as reported by Cricbuzz.Injury keeps Hardik Pandya out of ODI series against West IndiesHardik Pandya has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against the West Indies. However, his availability is still subject to fitness clearance for the series.When was the last time Hardik Pandya played for India?Hardik Pandya has not played a single international match for Team India since lifting the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup title in Ahmedabad back in March this year.Since then, the cricketer also missed a handful of matches for the Mumbai Indians franchise in the IPL 2026 season owing to his injury concern.He was also not named in India’s squad for the white-ball tours of Ireland, England and Zimbabwe in the space of a month-and-a-half, thus missing a total of 10 T20Is and three ODI matches for the national side.As of now, Hardik Pandya is still undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI CoE in Bengaluru. As per reports, he is even residing in the city to remain in touch with the center, all while keeping an eye on next year’s 2027 ICC World Cup in South Africa. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma set for returnFormer India captains and modern-day batting behemoths, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, are set to make their respective returns to the national ODI line-up for the series against the West Indies.Currently playing only ODI cricket for India after concurrently announcing their Test and T20I retirements, the two players recently toured England for a three-match series.Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be expected to helm India’s batting line-up against West Indies, at a time when several of rising Indian stars will be playing the 2026 Asian Games in Japan.Apart from Kohli and Rohit, Indian captain Shubman Gill will also make his return to the team.
