In a significant development, Glenn Maxwell has been charged with a Level 1 code of conduct offence during Belfast Wolves' European T20 Premier League (ETPL) match against Dublin Guardians at Sportpark Westvliet on August 27, 2026.
The offence relates to the use of audible obscenity on the field and falls under Article 2.3 of the tournament's Code of Conduct.
It is important to note that there is no formal disciplinary hearing for Glenn Maxwell's mistake, and it does not result in a suspension or a points deduction.
What Does The Level 1 Charge Mean For Glenn Maxwell?
It is worth noting that Article 2.3 of the ETPL Code of Conduct covers audible obscenity during a match. A Level 1 offence is the lowest category in the tournament’s disciplinary structure, and as Glenn Maxwell admitted the offence, the matter could be dealt with an agreed penalty.
There is no suspension attached to the decision, and no points deduction has been confirmed. Maxwell can therefore continue playing for Belfast Wolves in the ETPL.

How Glenn Maxwell’s Belfast Wolves Perform Against Dublin Guardians?
Glenn Maxwell produced an outstanding performance with the bat in the same match on August 27. The star player made 60 runs from 38 balls, hitting four sixes and two fours at a strike rate of 157.89.
Belfast Wolves opened their ETPL campaign with a convincing 52-run victory over Dublin Guardians. Dublin won the toss and chose to bowl first in the rain-affected contest.
Belfast began positively with Paul Stirling, who made 31 runs off 21 balls at a strike rate of 147.62. But the team lost several wickets, and Belfast was reduced to 68/4 in the ninth over. But then Maxwell joined Mark Chapman, and the pair made 84 (49).
Chapman played an important role during the recovery, and scored 54 runs from 33 balls. Maxwell was more cautious at first, taking time to understand the pitch before attacking the bowling in the closing stages.
The Belfast skipper finished with 60 from 38 balls, but he was dismissed in the final over. But by then, the Wolves had already built enough momentum to finish on 184/7.
The Guardians' chase started badly as Mark Adair struck with the second ball, and Dublin quickly lost wickets.
Dublin slipped to 36/6, leaving them in serious trouble. George Dockrell and Ashwin then added 36 for the seventh wicket. Dockrell continued with 35 from 22 balls, including three sixes and a four. However, Dublin finished on 132/9 and fell 52 runs short.

It is important to mention that Glenn Maxwell did not immediately attack after arriving at the crease. With the pitch offering some movement, he built his innings gradually before increasing the scoring rate.
