Royal Challengers Bengaluru will take on Delhi Capitals in Match 26 of the ongoing IPL 2026 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, April 18. The afternoon fixture promises to be a high-energy contest, with RCB entering the game in dominant form and a special jersey.

Led by Rajat Patidar, RCB have won four of their first five matches this season and look like strong contenders to defend their title. The team has secured a win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first match, followed by a 43-run victory over CSK in the second.

In the third match, RCB lost to the Rajasthan Royals by 6 wickets. The defending champions bounced back in style, defeating the Mumbai Indians and LSG in the following matches.

RCB's dominant performance in IPL 2026 so far

RCB's batting lineup has been powered by Virat Kohli, who has already made 228 runs in 5 matches with a strike rate of 158.33, while RCB captain Rajat Patidar himself has been equally impressive.

Contributions from players like Devdutt Padikkal, Tim David, and Phil Salt have added balance to the side. On the bowling front, Josh Hazlewood, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Krunal Pandya have led the attack effectively.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals have struggled for consistency, managing just two wins in four matches so far, and they are currently placed at the 6th position of the IPL 2026 points table.

RCB to don iconic 'Green Jersey' against DC

While the Bengaluru's on-field action will grab attention, the RCB's choice of jersey is expected to stand out even more. The franchise will wear its iconic green jersey instead of the traditional red kit as part of its long-running 'Green Initiative.'

It is important to mention that this special jersey is made from recycled materials and indicates the team’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

Speaking on the initiative, Rajesh Menon, CEO, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, said -

"Achieving carbon-neutral status as a T20 franchise is the result of years of dedicated work. The green jerseys reflect this commitment, and we hope this initiative inspires our fans and stakeholders to embrace more responsible and sustainable practices."

Why will RCB wear 'Green Jersey'?

The initiative began in 2011 and has since become an annual tradition, with RCB wearing this 'Green Jersey' in one match of the season to raise awareness of climate change and eco-friendly practices.

RCB has taken several steps beyond the jersey to promote sustainability. These include waste management programs, energy-efficient stadium operations, and encouraging fans to adopt greener habits.

The franchise has also claimed the distinction of being the only carbon-neutral T20 team in the world.

RCB's jerseys this season are reportedly crafted using recycled textiles, aligning with global sustainability goals and promoting manufacturing practices. The initiative has evolved over the years from a simple awareness campaign into a core part of the franchise's identity.

As part of the matchday tradition, captain Rajat Patidar is also expected to present a sapling to the opposing skipper during the toss.
