The cricketer played just six matches in the tournament, scoring 201 runs at an average of 33.50 and with a strike rate of 177.87.Ayush Mhatre played the last of those matches in Hyderabad against the SRH way back in April earlier this year.Another injury concern prompted the youngster to miss the Mumbai T20 League 2026 season in Mumbai, before getting ruled of the 2026 Irani Cup in Srinagar. At the time, the youngster was CSK’s top run-scorer of the season. Addressing his injury, CSK took to social media and wrote “Ayush's injury will require a rehabilitation period of 6-12 weeks. We wish Ayush a speedy recovery.”A few days later, the franchise named Akash Madhwal as his official replacement for the remainder of the tournament.Leading up to the Mumbai T20 League 2026 season in Mumbai, the teenage sensation suffered a wrist injury, and was ruled out of action for a couple of months.A TOI report stated “Ayush not only has a left hamstring injury, but has also been diagnosed with a wrist injury.
