Previously, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) complained about the accommodation arrangements for the 2026 Asian Games, citing them as insufficient for Team India.
However, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) made clear its stance on the matter, saying that it would be completely upto the BCCI and the board must take full responsibility in terms of food, transport and accommodation if they are not happy with the Asian Games arrangements.
IOA CEO Opens Up On Asian Games Discussion With BCCI Counterpart
IOA CEO Raghuram Iyer, in an interview with The Times of India (TOI), revealed that he had an important conversation with BCCI CEO Hemang Amin on the subject.
There, the IOA CEO highlighted that they must ensure equal treatment for athletes across the 36 sports in which India will take part in the Asian Games. However, if the BCCI is not satisfied with the facilities, they can accommodate as they see fit.
“BCCI CEO Hemang Amin got in touch with us (IOA), and we had a fruitful discussion. They are contemplating sending an advance team to Japan to assess the facilities. The IOA is completely fine with that. Based on their assessment, they can decide whether they want to use the organisers’ facilities or make their own arrangements," IOA CEO Iyer told TOI.

"It is for the BCCI and the organisers to work out the best solution. All sports, athletes, coaches and the entire delegation are treated equally by IOA,” he added.
Where Will Team India Stay For Asian Games 2026?
The TOI report further revealed that there is an APA Hotel Nagoya Ekimae, a three-star hotel, for Men. For women, there is the Meitetsu Grand Hotel, a four-star hotel. More significantly, all the rooms will be on a twin-sharing basis, which did not go over well in the BCCI.
To clarify, these are the hotels and rooms allocated to Indian cricketers for the Asian Games 2026. The BCCI, however, can still make changes on its own if it collectively feels it must be in a better place.
