On Saturday, Hunain Shah, playing for Jamaica Kingsmen, came to bowl for the first time ahead of the fifth over of Guyana Amazon Warriors’ innings in Match 26 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026, which took place at Providence Stadium.
Mavendra Dindyal welcomed him with back-to-back sixes off his first two deliveries, one over deep mid-wicket and another over deep point region. After that, the way Hunain came back to exact his revenge against Dindyal left everyone in awe.
In fact, the current set of Pakistan pacers, who have been struggling at the highest level for a while now, could take some inspiration from the delivery Hunain bowled to get rid of Dindyal.
Hunain Shah Turns Revenge Into Reality In CPL
Right after back-to-back sixes, Dindyal went for another big hit, this time over long-on. However, Hunain Shah was too smart for him, bowling a perfect yorker around the middle and off stump to give Dindyal no chance at all.
It rattled the stumps straightaway, leaving Dindyal stunned in the middle. Hunain, on the other hand, celebrated wildly after completing his revenge.

It was Hunain’s 12th wicket in CPL 2026. Thus far, he has played nine matches in the ongoing edition and has maintained an impressive economy rate of 7.91. The 22-year-old also strikes at 15, showing positive signs for Pakistan’s future.
Hunain had 1/31 off his three overs against Guyana, who had the last laugh collectively, chasing a 160-run target with 16 balls and eight wickets to spare.
For those who are not aware, Hunain is Naseem Shah’s sibling. There is another fast bowler who is Naseem’s brother and plays for Pakistan: Ubaid Shah.
Has Hunain Played For Pakistan Yet?
However, Hunain is yet to make his debut at the senior level for Pakistan. Both Naseem Shah and Ubaid have made the cut, but there is still time for Hunain to go there.
Nevertheless, the way things have been panning out for Pakistan cricket of late, Hunain might not have to wait long.
Not to forget, Hunain had an extremely impressive Pakistan Super League (PSL) campaign a few months ago. Playing for Hyderabad Kingsmen under the leadership of Marnus Labuschagne, he had 17 wickets at a strike rate of 12, which is far more magnificent than his ongoing CPL 2026 season.
Hunain's best PSL record was 4/22, which came against RawalPindiZ.
Hunain Shah's Overall Numbers So Far
So far in his young career, Hunain has played 14 First-Class matches, claiming 39 wickets at an average of 29.43. He also has 14 wickets in nine List A matches.
In terms of T20s, his tally after Mavendra Dindyal’s wicket in the format went to 57 wickets after 47 outings. There, he averages 22.64, striking at 15.9.
