Forgotten Pakistan cricketer, Ahmed Shehzad, who is still waiting for an opportunity to shine, was exposed by a Pakistan fan during a live TV show. Shehzad has been critical of the current Pakistan players for not playing with a certain strike rate in the format, but a fan gave him a reality check in front of the live audience.
The 34-year-old batter last represented Pakistan in 2019, and even before that, he was in and out of the side due to poor form and disciplinary issues. The cricketer currently works as a pundit, and he has been critical of how the Pakistan players are performing at the international level.
Babar Azam's biggest critic exposed by Pakistan fan
However, the right-handed player was schooled by a Pakistani cricket fan as he exposed him online and brought forward Shehzad’s T20I stats from his playing days. In a tweet that has gone viral, the fan put forward how New Zealand last defeated Pakistan in a T20 World Cup game in 2016, and how Shehzad was the real culprit for the nation on that day.
He has been constantly running after Babar Azam for his slow and sluggish T20I batting, but his own stats were brought in front of everyone and Shehzad had to explain himself.
"The last time when NZ defeated Pakistan in a T20 WC match was in 2016 WC. Chasing 181, SHARJEEL KHAN took Pakistan to a flying start. He scored 47 off 25. When he got out, Pak score was 65/1 in just 5.3 overs.
It was at this stage when the Legendary Opener of that Era and current Greatest Analyst, @iamAhmadshahzad played a blinder. 30 off just 32 deliveries, sucked all the momentum from the chase and won it for Kiwis 🔥"
After the tweet was shown in front of the audience, the batter explained himself by stating that he only failed to deliver in 5-10 innings, while the current crop of players have failed since ages.

Shehzad's poor numbers in T20Is exposes him
Once touted as Pakistan’s answer to Virat Kohli, Shehzad’s downfall needs to be studied. The 34-year-old was one of the most promising Pakistan players, and he even became the first cricketer from his nation to score a century across all formats.
While his ODI numbers were still decent, it was in the T20Is where he struggled against quality opposition, and the numbers reflect the reality. In 59 T20I games for Pakistan, the batter struggled for runs as he accumulated 1471 runs, with a strike rate of just 114.74, and an average of 25.80.
What happened when Shehzad helped New Zealand win a T20 WC game
Talking about the match where Shehzad played a sluggish knock against the Kiwis in the T20 World Cup, Pakistan needed 181 runs to win the match, and opener Sharjeel Khan gave a quick-fire start as he scored 47 off 25 and laid a platform for the other batters.
However, his fellow opening partner, and Babar’s critique, Shehzad struggled for runs on a flat wicket as he scored a painstaking 32-ball 30, and gave momentum to the New Zealand side.
Due to his slow batting, the pressure built on the middle-order batters as the required rate climbed up, and the team lost the plot in the middle-overs, thus losing the match by 22 runs.
