Pakistan cricket has been full of excitement lately, with a new controversy emerging almost every day. After Aaqib Javed confirmed Babar Azam’s injury as the reason behind his snub from the ongoing ODI series against Bangladesh, he also asked for an investigation.
As the buzz is already grabbing attention, Babar Azam’s recent social media post added fuel to it. In his recent Instagram story, the Pakistani batter indirectly mocked Aaqib Javed’s remarks.

In the last few years, Babar Azam’s struggle in the white-ball format has grabbed the attention, and the recently ended T20 World Cup 2026 was no different. The ace Pakistani batter scored only 91 runs in four matches with a poor strike rate of 112.35. Just after wrapping up the marquee event, the Pakistani batter faced a setback.
As Pakistan travelled to Bangladesh for an ODI series, he was axed from the squad. After the snub, the cricket world thought that poor form was the reason behind it, until Aaqib Javed dropped the bombshell.

Dismissing the earlier reports, he said that Babar Azam was dropped due to injury. He also revealed that the injury was diagnosed after the batter returned from the T20 World Cup campaign.
Adding to that, he also said that PCB will arrange an investigation to provide a detailed report on how the Pakistani batter sustained the injury. Along with that, he also confirmed that it will also be checked if he was already injured during the tournament.

Even after Aaqib Javed made the shocking claim about Babar'S injury, fans were in doubt. While dropping the star due to poor form could be justified, citing an injury as the reason for his snub didn’t seem entirely convincing.
After Javed’s claim, fans slammed PCB for Babar's shocking snub as the batter scored a thrilling century in the last ODI series against Sri Lanka. As the protest took over social media, the former Pakistan skipper stepped into the field.
Taking an indirect dig at Aaqib Javed, Babar posted a picture on his social media. In his Instagram story, he posted an edited image of himself with slightly twisted legs, mocking Javed’s injury claim.
This picture spread like wildfire as the fans wasted no time linking it with Aaqib Javed’s questionable remarks on Azam’s snub from the ODIs against Bangladesh. After the batter’s social media post, it is more clear that the injury claim might not be the real reason behind his snub.
Babar Azam to return in PSL 2026
After wrapping up the ongoing three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, Pakistan cricket will shift its focus to the upcoming PSL 2026. With several major changes, the tournament promises to be bigger and more exciting than ever.
After missing out on the National T20 tournament and the ODI tour, Babar Azam set his focus on a mighty return in the upcoming tournament. Wearing the Peshawar Zalmi jersey, he will be eager to lead the team to another PSL trophy. As the tournament is starting on March 26, they will face Rawalpindi Pindiz as their first competitor on March 28.
