In a significant development, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have been dealt a surprising setback amid their strong run in the ongoing IPL 2026. Currently placed third on the points table, SRH have been one of the most in-form teams, riding high on a remarkable five-match winning streak.

Their latest victory came on April 29, when they secured a six-wicket win against Mumbai Indians, chasing down a massive target of 244.

After an inconsistent start to the season, SRH found their rhythm at the right time and quickly turned into a dominant force. They registered consecutive wins against Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and CSK.

With strong momentum on their side, SRH will next face Kolkata Knight Riders on May 3 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

However, ahead of this crucial clash, unexpected news has emerged. According to journalist Danushka Aravinda, three Sri Lankan players, Dilshan Madushanka, Eshan Malinga, and Kamindu Mendis, have left the SRH camp mid-way through the tournament and arrived in Sri Lanka early Thursday morning (April 30).

It is important to note that they have reached Sri Lanka to complete their biometrics as part of the visa process for the upcoming tour of the West Indies 2026.
