So, that is it from myself, Karthik Raj and my co-commentators, Soumarya Datta and Manan as we wrap up the coverage of this fixture along with our scorer, Zeeshan Naiyer.
We are not done with the WCL action for the day as the night fixture between India Champions and England Champions is set to start at 09:30 PM IST! Do join our coverage for the same.
As mentioned earlier, what a way for the South Africa Champions to start their campaign as they look to go back-to-back in terms of titles in the WCL. As far as the West Indies Champions are concerned, they have a lot of work to do especially with the bowling attack.
AB de Villiers: We played a clinical game. Incredible bowling performance. We have got a quality bowling attack which always helps. Picked up a couple of niggles when I was batting out there. But luckily with the experience over the years, read the situation. We did that well for the 20 years which helped us get over 240. I don't miss it when my body feels like that. The skill is there, the mindset is there but it's tough on the body. Getting out there without family affects the lifestyle. One a year is good enough.
Chris Gayle: Absolutely man. Levi and Faf statrted well. We got Faf out but AB and Levi took us on. We used this as a preparation game. Obviously, want to win but we didn't get too much time to practice. Nice, have been struggling to hit from last year. Good to be amongst the runs.
Richard Levi (South Africa Champions) - "(On his own innings) It was great to be able to bat the way I did today. I managed to stay past the 10th over but I am not usually known for batting that long.
(On the pitch conditions)The wicket wasn't the easiest. It was a tricky one. Myself and Faf had to adapt. They bowled well up front.Once the ball got a bit older and we got the pace of the wicket, we began to attack and play a few strokes once we got in. We got rewarded for the shots once the wicket got a bit easier to bat on.
(On the win) Yeah we will take it. The only way to continue to perform is to keep winning. Hopefully we can carry that on. "
