The Steelbacks never looked nearer to the chase in this contest and lost wickets at regular intervals. The pacers worked really well in the initials of the proceedings with legspinner, Shadab Khan operating from the other end. They lost Ben Curran, Chris Lynn, Josh Cobb quite early and the middle order failed too after getting decent starts. Jimmy Neesham got to 26 off half the number being the deliveries and is the highest runscorer for Northamptonshire tonight. Dom Bess, and Shadab Khan controlled the middle phases extremely well, picking up crucial blows and in the end the pacers summed things up for a sweet victory.
Earlier in the day, Northants had won the toss and elected to field first. Yorkshire got off the worst possible start as they lost three-wicket in quick succession. David Willey and Brook decided to take matters into their own hands as they went after the bowling. It was some counter-attack from the two as they brought things back in control. Willey scored 31 runs off 24 balls as he played the anchor role while Brook took the bowler apart as he scored 67 off 31 balls before getting dismissed. Yorkshire did lose control of the ship in the middle phase as they lost three quick wickets and were around the 150 mark for 6 wickets. A late flurry from the likes of Thompson 30 (22), Waite 35* (20) and Revis 10* (4) helped Yorkshire put up a huge score of 190 runs. They managed to assemble 45 runs in the last three overs.
W Gonee!! thats it that's the last wicket and Vikings have won the match by 63 runs here. A widish yorker once again and the batter stays there and looks to carve the ball towards the backward point region. The widish 3rd man nearer to the region gets hold of the cork and that summons the end of the contest between the two.

0 A wide yorker from the bowler and Buck looks to get a bat but misses it.
