That's it from the coverage of this game. Don't go too far away as we have a double header coming your way tomorrow. It's going to be Bangladesh up against England in Dharamsala in the day game and then Pakistan vs Sri Lanka in the night game in Hyderabad. Do join us for these two games that promises to entertain one and all.

For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing it off alongside AkshayaKrishna Polya, Akshay Bhide alongside scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
Best bowling figures for a New Zealand bowler in India:

Matthew Hart vs West Indies in Margao in 1994 - 5/22
Mitchell Santner vs Netherlands in Hyderabad in 2023 - 5/59
Hamish Bennett vs Kenya in Chennai in 2011 - 4/16
Left-arm spinners to pick five-wicket hauls in ODI World Cups:

Yuvraj Singh vs Ireland at Bengaluru in 2011 - 5/31
Shakib Al Hasan vs Afghanistan in Southampton in 2019 - 5/29
Mitchell Santner vs Netherlands in Hyderabad in 2023 - 5/59
Tom Latham (New Zealand Captain): "We would have bowled first. But we did a great job with the bat. We built good partnerships and the batters put the runs on the board and put the pressure on the opposition.

Yes, it was nice for everyone to get a hit out there. The guys built good partnerships and that took us to the death overs and then we got the finish we wanted.

I thought the bowlers bowled well. They started well and then kept it tight and Mitchell Santner bowled well and won us the match. Boult and Henry were good in the end and start.

Lockie Ferguson was good and he bowled well and looked sharp today.

Next up we go to Chennai, where we have seen different conditions. So, we have to adapt there and we have two games there. So, hopefully, we adapt and do well there.

We are close to our full playing XI. Lockie is playing well. Southee is available and Kane is making good progress.

Let us see how things pan out in the coming days. But happy with the start that we have had here in this tournament."
Scott Edwards (Netherlands Captain): "Yeah, I think it was pretty good for the first 40 overs, or maybe for till the 47th over. They got away from us in the last 3 overs, which pushed the score a little bit further than we were hoping.

If we could hold them to the 280-300 mark, then we would have had a better chance, as the wicket gets a little better at night under the lights.

New Zealand are a disciplined bowling attack. They won't make it easy for you either. You are not going to chase down 320+ with starts in 40s, 50s and 60s. We will speak about that with the boys and make sure we make amends on those.

In the next few games, we have to put on bigger partnerships and bigger scores so that we achieve what we want to. (Talking about Netherlands next match against South Africa at Dharamsala) For us, it's another game, we have to play our best cricket and try to win. Thank you."
Ian Smith on air called the decision of the TV umpire a poor one as he thought that the gloves of Tom Latham were behind the stumps while collecting the ball.

Now, Joel Wilson thought otherwise. The side-on replays suggested that Latham's gloves' some part, small part were in front of the stumps and hence, it was not a legal way to enforce the stumping.
Akshaya: Here 👇 is MCC law 27.3 saying about the legal stumping...

27.3 Position of wicket-keeper

27.3.1 The wicket-keeper shall remain wholly behind the wicket at the striker’s end from the moment the ball comes into play until a ball delivered by the bowler touches the bat or person of the striker or passes the wicket at the striker’s end or the striker attempts a run.

27.3.2 In the event of the wicket-keeper contravening this Law, the striker’s end umpire shall call and signal No ball as soon as applicable after the delivery of the ball.
Mitchell Santner (Player of the Match): "Yeah. Not too bad. Credit to the boys upfront for the way they batted. They did a fine job to get to us 320 and we knew we would defend this on this deck.

The nature of the surfaces. It was nice to get some purchase from the wicket. I didn't bowl at my best today. They had a couple of partnerships but we held on and finished on the winning side.

I have been lucky enough to be in India for a couple of years. Not been playing but watching Jadeja do his thing. Have learned a lot and just tried to use the experience of spending time here.

I have been batting in the nets and was nice to get some off the middle of the bat."
