22:30 IST | Saiprasad | Review: And That's it from the game. We have an official statement from the ground that the match has been abandoned due to rain. Earlier in the game, Munster Reds won the toss and opted to bowl first. And it was a good toss to win as they restricts Lightning to only 135 runs and picked up all their 10 wickets.
Lightning kept losing their wickets frequently throughout the first innings. However, Simi Singh, 38 runs off 50 balls and Barry McCarthy, 38 runs off 63 balls help the side cross that 100-run mark. While, from the bowling department, Liam picked 3 most important wickets, Kane and Campher assisted Liam with 2-2 wickets each in the first innings.
Now, Munster opener batters Peter Moor and Cormac Hassett came to chase down the total of 136 runs in 50 overs. In the first over itself, Captain Peter Moor departs off that beautiful delivery which just took the outside edge of his bat straight to the keeper bowled by Barry McCarthy. Then, after playing solidly for the next 8 overs, both Kane and Cormac looked comfortable at that time.
But unfortunately, the best batter from the Reds, Tyrone Kane got dismissed in the same pattern as Peter Moor got dismissed and by the same bowler Barry McCarthy. Then, in just the next 3 overs, Cormac also went to the pavilion as caught behind. After that, Kevin and Campher were playing safely as Lightning suddenly came into the game and then the rain started showering in the game.
21.20 IST | Ishan: And the showers continue to pour, Rain Rain go away... Rain Gods are still in a mood.
20.55 IST | Ishan: It's still raining here at Mardyke, we will have to wait for further announcement.
8:50 PM IST | Ovaise: A minimum of 20 overs needs to be bowled in the match for a result, we have a couple of hours still remaining. If it stops raining we'll be able to get the 6.4 overs. Hopefully, the rain stops and we'll have a game.
8:20 PM IST | Ovaise: Steady rain at the ground, unfortunately, the wait continues.
Ovaise: We'll have a short delay as it has started to rain at Mardyke, Cork!! Looks like a passing shower, fingers crossed!!
13.2 J Little to C Campher
0 Solid defense by Campher here. Straight delivery off that good length and Campher blocks it firmly on the wicket.
13.1 J Little to C Campher
0 Dot ball to start off, Campher on the front foot pushes that length delivery back to the bowler for no run.
