Peshawar Zalmi will feel blessed that they lost today. It is always better to lose a game before the knockouts so that you are alert enough to give your best on the main day. So, then we have it all set as well move to the final day of the league stage of PSL 2026.

Lahore Qalandars will intently watch the afternoon game between Hyderabad Kingsmen and RawalPindiZ. Only a massive win for the Kingsmen can see them pip the Qalandars. It will start at 3 PM IST (2:30 PM Local Time).

Folks, the evening too holds a lot of weightage. Not in terms of qualification but in terms of who ends in the top 2. Remember the top 2 teams get a second chance if they lose their Qualifier. Multan Sultans will take on Islamabad United. The winner will end second on the points table. That match will take place at 7.30 PM IST (7 PM Local Time).

On this note, I, Manan Mehta would like to take your leave on behalf of my colleagues Saptak Sanyal, Mohammad Anab and Zeeshan Naiyer.

111.76 - 57* (51) vs Bangladesh, Mirpur, 2021

123.4 - 58* (47) vs Peshawar Zalmi, Lahore, 2026 (Tonight)*

124.39 - 51 (41) vs Islamabad United, Lahore, 2022
Shaheen Shah Afridi (Lahore Qalandars Captain): "(On the team effort) Yes of course. It is a team effort. Everybody tried. Credit goes to Fakhar, Sams and everyone in the team.

(On chasing 200) We were trying to chase it down. The intention of playing an extra batter was to chase the target even if it goes over 190 or 200.

(Any areas to improve?) I think we are struggling a bit in the death bowling and leaking a lot of runs in that phase. We have two to three days to work on that and come with a better preparation for the play-offs."
Babar Azam (Peshawar Zalmi Captain): "(Is it good to lose a game before the playoffs?) Sometimes a wakeup call like this is good and you have to accept it. I think we did not execute to our potential with the ball and in the field. With the bat it was a tad two-paced in the beginning, but we tried to maintain the momentum, and I think we got to a good score but yeah, we could not execute with the ball.

(On handling Ali Raza) You have to be patient with the youngsters. See when you are young and you get hit in the middle then you lose your track a little. As a Captain I just need to remind the youngster about the hard work he has done so far and what has worked for him.

(On going back to Karachi for the Qualifier) The conditions will change when we play our Playoff in Karachi. We have won 6 games there so hopefully the run continues. Yes, we are going back there after a while so we will have to assess the conditions all over again and plan accordingly for it.

(Pressure in a playoff game?) The more you think about it, the more it troubles you. Ideally, you would want to treat it as any other match and play freely."
Fakhar Zaman (Player of the Match): "(What was on your mind when you came out to bat?) We played on this deck earlier and it is the second match for us. We knew that the wicket will support the bowlers a bit. They batted really well but we knew that if we survive against the new ball, we will do better. That happened.

(Did you want to take the game deep?) Our plan changed when Sikandar came to bat. He said that he will try (the big shots) and said me to take the game deep. Sams came and the plan remained the same. When it is your day, things pay off. I will try to continue it in the coming games."
