That brings us to the end of our coverage for this game. Do join us for the other vitality matches. Till the next time, it's goodbye and goodnight from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty), my fellow commentator Nikhil Kalla along with our scorer Zeeshan Naiyer.

Arya- Earlier in the day, it was the Kent Spitfires skipper Sam Billings who won the toss and opted to bat. The only blip for Kent was the opening breakthrough of Bell-Drummond in the very first over. Jason Behenredorff bowled an indipper which struck him plumb in front. However, from there on, it was a one-man show for Kent as Joe Denly enthralled the crowd with some electrifying strokeplay.

He looked in great touch right from the outset and made his intentions pretty clear. Denly was seen clobbering the Middlesex attack all around the park. It was a knock of the highest order, especially due to the fact that he was under a bit of pump coming into this encounter. His stroke play went to a different level against the spinners. He kept dancing down the track even to the pacers and made merry as the Middlesex bowlers failed to contain him.

Jordan Cox was playing the second fiddle at the other end but was himself looking in great touch. He gave the strike to Joe Denly and himself managed to score 45 of 34 deliveries. Kent was well in pursuit of a score in excess of 200. However, the Middlesex bowlers came back strongly in the last few overs which surely had something for the bowlers.

Denly and Jordan Cox was dismissed in quick time and it started a collapse. There was a flurry of wickets and eventually, Kent could only muster 192 on the board. However, it was well above the par score on this surface. Max Holden and Stephen Eskinazi began pretty well and shared a 29 runs partnership in less than four overs. They found the boundaries and got their side off to a good start. However, Holden’s wicket put them on the backfoot.

Eskinazi who is a great striker of the ball couldn't quite convert his start into a big one and was eventually dismissed by Qais Ahmed who bowled a brilliant spell. His flatter trajectory deliveries kept a bit low and it was never easy for the batters to get him away. Joe Cracknell and Martin Andersson were dismissed in quick time, reducing Middlesex to 61/4 and from there on, it was always going to be a mountain too steep to climb.

John Simpson struck a four and a six but couldn't quite carry on. By then, the pressure was too much and the target was not anywhere close to their reach. Luke Hollman eventually remained unbeaten on 29 of 19 deliveries but it was always going to be for a lost cause. The Kent bowlers understood the surface and bowled accordingly. Stroke making got increasingly difficult as the match progressed. In the end, Middlesex could only reach 137 in their allotted 20 overs. giving a 55 runs victory to Kent as they opened their account.
Arya- An utterly dominating performance from the Kent Spitfires. They had lost all their previous five games and needed a win desperately and they have produced a masterclass today. On the back of a breathtaking century from the blade of Joe Denly, Kent posted a big total of 192 and in the end, it was way too much for Middlesex on a tricky wicket which stopped and gripped on the surface. It also had some sharp turn for the spinners.

19.6 M Milnes to J Behrendorff
2 That has been smashed down the leg side for a couple. However, that is irrelevant as Kent Spitfires register their first victory of the tournament. A comprehensive 55 runs victory.
19.5 M Milnes to J Behrendorff
0 Another play and miss. A shade outside off, Beherendorff goes for an ugly hoick but doesn't make any contact.
19.4 M Milnes to L Hollman
1 A short delivery outside off. Hollman swats that away by taking a step or two, just short of the long-off fielder and a single.
19.3 M Milnes to L Hollman
0 Swing and a miss. Fuller-length angling into the left-hander. Hollan swings hard but doesn't make contact.
19.2 M Milnes to L Hollman
2 Fuller-length delivery on the stumps, Hollman swings across the line only to get that away down the deep midwicket region from the inside half of the bat. Have enough time to return for a couple.
