Shahrukh Khan (VIDA Kovai Kings Captain): "(Was he the man with the plan for the Kings?) Well, the plan was on from the first day. We just tried to keep things as simple as possible. That was been the X-factor for us since the last five years. There is no point in complicating too much. The shorter the version of the game, the simpler you keep. There was no such plans to be really honest. It might look like the things were done really different from the outside but we were just sticking to the simple things.
(Mentality of the team) Well, all the emotions happened inside the dressing room. Firstly, I am a human and you tend to react. It's sport at the end of the day so there are things that will go your way and there are things that won't go your way but it's important to take it in your stride and move forward. Talking about the toss, the last time I smiled was the last time I won the toss and today here we are as a team. Credit to everybody in the team. Even when we were down after losing a few games, we managed to stick together.
(On having so many match-winners in the side) Yeah, the players that we have in the team are one of the best players in our state. Everybody bowled extremely well. I just don't want to name any individual. From the start till the end, whenever the bowlers were asked something, they really responded brilliantly to the situation. They are good boys at the end of the day. They actually listen to what's been said and as a captain, it makes things much easier.
(Can he highlight a single turning point of the season?) No, I don't think there was anything specific to be honest. We were doing the same things as I told you earlier. We were just doing things that had to be done, keeping things simple. I really don't know what to answer for this. Even if I take sometime, I will be lying because the truth is there weren't any plans as such. We just kept things simple.
(Have they ticked all the boxes this season?) Ya. We are a team that's known to bounce back from tough situations. We started off well this year but last year wasn't that great. We had tremendous years and you need to understand that there will be a lean patch for a team. That's very normal. That's why we play sport for. If you have one team that wins every year, it's going to be boring. We finished 6th or 7th last year and to be here, credit to all the boys."

The Madurai Panthers collect the runners-up cheque worth 10,00,000 INR after finishing second in the TNPL 2026.
B Anirudh Sita Ram (Madurai Panthers Captain): (His words to encapsulate the season) Great season to sum it up. Before the start of the tournament, nobody gave us a chance. So, we were in the Finals and it happens. One bad game. It could've happened to them as well. So, not thinking too much about what happened today. Overall, we have played some exceptional cricket throughout the tournament and deservingly we were in the Finals.
(What was his thoughts before taking the leadership role ahead of this season?) Nothing much. I have been captaining my first division club for a couple of years. So, it was not new to me. I just wanted to create a good atmosphere for the boys to flourish and that's what happened with the help of the management and support staff.
(Team environment throughout the season) So, we had a simple thing where we won't react too much or to take wins too highly or to sulk when to lose. The moto was to enjoy the game and look forward.
(Takeaways from the season) Well, this was the base. We had a big auction where we brought in some new players. So, we were part of a 2 weeks camp and then straightaway part of the TNPL. So, the future is bright for us."
