Tomorrow is the last day of the league phase, and we will see another doubleheader. Meerut Mavericks will square off against Kashi Rudras in the afternoon game, and in the evening fixture, Kanpur Superstars will play Gorakhpur Lions. 3 teams have already qualified for the playoffs, and it will be interesting to find out which team becomes the fourth and final team to book their spot.
Lucknow Falcons once again came out as the happier side in a rain-affected match, and Kanpur Superstars ended up as the losing side, which also dented their hopes of progressing forward in the tournament. They have just one more match left, and they would look to close their campaign on a high.
Vipraj Nigam (Lucknow Falcons captain and Player of the Match): "(On his batting today) You ask any bowler about it and they will say they like batting. My role in the team as a batter is to add 10-15 runs for the team in such situations.
(On his opening pair today) Actually, all thanks to our coaching staff - they built such a great team for us, that our bench players did so well having gotten the opportunity. All credit goes to the openers for the start they gave on a spinning wicket. The game became easier for us after that.
(On his plan bowling to Sameer Rizvi) We had the DLS in mind as well, I thought as a captain and a lead bowler I should take a chance against him. We managed to get him out, and as a result of that, won via DLS.
(On how much he's enjoyed captaincy today) As a captain or vice captain, I enjoy quite a lot. There's more responsibility as captain, though - we saw Bhuvi bhai handle everything, so there's less pressure on us. As a captain, my job was to keep our debutants calm and console them, and ensure that they perform whatever they practiced going into the game."
