2:18 AM IST | Deepak: A scintillating knock of 83* runs from Will Jacks has helped Surrey register their third victory of the season. Surrey thumped Hampshire by 6 wickets with 7 balls to spare.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, the Hampshire Hawks posted 156 runs in 20 overs. Their innings was anchored by none other than skipper James Vince, who was in scintillating form and amassed 88* runs, helping his side reach a total of 156 runs. From the bowling front, Sean Abbott, Gus Atkinson, Sam Curran, and Sunil Narine each took one wicket for Surrey.

In pursuit of the Hawks’ 156 runs, Surrey got off to a shaky start as they lost Laurie Evans for a meager 13 runs in the 4th over. Will Jacks paired up with Sam Curran and started scoring at a rapid pace, and the former hammered two back-to-back sixes in the last over of the powerplay to help his side post 52 runs at the end of the powerplay. However, he didn’t get enough support from the southpaw Curran, who failed to make an impact with the bat and departed for 8 runs.

Surrey lost a couple of more wickets, runs dried up in the middle overs, and the run rate was climbing up. However, Jacks kept calm and launched three back to back sixes in the 15th over, turning the tide of the game. He was ably supported by Jamie Smith (30), as the duo remained unbeaten till the end and sealed the deal for Surrey.

From the bowling front, Liam Dawson bagged a couple of wickets for the Hawks, while Chris Wood and Mason Crane shared a wicket each.
