That's it from another good game of cricket in the Indian Premier League 2023. Time to say goodbye on behalf of Akshaya Krishna and Paras Yadav and myself, Ninaad Dixit. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Rashid Khan (Player of the Match): "Its just about making sure you don't give that much of a signal for the batsmen to pick you, make it easy for them. In the last 2 years I have worked to minimize the different between the leg spin and the googly. I am trying my best to hold that in the same grip in everything. So far it has got a bit time to make it perfect. I am working a lot in the nets to make it harder for the batsmen.
Sometimes you use the lines and lengths. As long as I am hitting the right areas, it becomes hard for the batters and when I lose the line and length then it becomes easier to hit.
I keep things simple. On a bad day I think what I did wrong. What went against me. I feel I bowled few bad deliveries which were finished and in T20 you don't have time to bowl those bad balls. I talk with my video analyst and see the pitch map and correct myself in the nets to bowl in the right areas.
That is something which makes it easier for both of us. We speak Pashto and it makes easier for Noor as well. I can translate things for him which makes it easier. Hardik tells me to stay close to him and speak in his language.
We have more than 1000 wrist spinners in Afghanistan. I went to an academy and saw so many there. That was the first year of me in IPL when there were 250 wrist spinners. The impact it had back home in 5-6-7 years is now even more. I am receiving messages and videos of the spinners. The opportunities the guys like Mujeeb, Qais, Zahir get and the ones in the future will be good for them."
Player of the Match: Rashid Khan
Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Titans Captain): "I let Rashid handle the business with Noor. They speak the same language and I think no one's better than Rashid to communicate and tell Noor what's good and what is not and that has been something that is fantastic.
There's not much I have to do. The only time I say do I want a slip or any other field changes. They are confident and know what to do. When I see that something is not right then we have a conversation but more often than not they know what they have to do.
I've always found Wriddhi one of the best keepers I have played with. Its not easy to pick Rashid Khan and Noor, the way they've been bowling and at the speed they bowl at. Wicketkeeping is a thankless job but at the same point of time the way he adds that value.
At the end of the day we know we have to be professionals. We are relaxed till you are doing your job. If you are not on the park and just roaming around then its just something its just a chat either me or Ashu pa will have to pull up our socks. Something which we really want to go ahead is finishing games and be ruthless as well.
Today my job was half done by the time Shubman got out. At the same point of time I got a lot of time to think to what happened in the last game. I never shied away from taking responsibility or even when I make a mistake I like to accept it because acceptance is the biggest key in your life to learn. What happened in the last 2 games could be my learning."
