Angelo Mathews (Kandy Royals Captain): "[You were clearly disappointed after losing the toss, but in hindsight, do you think it turned out to be a good toss to lose?] Well, to be honest, you can't win every toss. Yes, I was disappointed because we wanted to bat first as well. But our bowlers were under pressure on what was a very good batting wicket.
[At the halfway stage, it looked like they were well above par. Did you feel they were heading towards a really big total?] You know, it was one of the best innings I've ever seen. It was a fantastic knock.
[Did you ever feel you were losing the momentum with those wickets falling in quick succession?] No, I thought we did well in patches. The bowlers did well in phases, but their batting lineup is such that you can't really keep them quiet in every single over. Unfortunately, we missed our lines and lengths in a few overs, but that was compensated for by our batting."

Galle Gallants won the toss and elected to bat first. Sam Harper's 72 off 38 deliveries and an unbeaten 70 off 32 balls from Charith Asalanka helped the Gallants register 208/3. Zahir Khan bowled an astonishing spell of 2/25 with Nuwan Thushara picking up 1/39.
