Heather
Knight ( England Women Captain) - "Yeah frustrated with todayβs performance to be honest nothing went our side today. We struggled first with the bat then ball. But
we showed some good things in the first 2 ODIβs as we batted well in both. Bit frustrating
today and good leaning today and will progress go further. I think Sophie
innings was great and we failed to get some wickets in the middle. We had few
situations and we got some pressure back on in the middle. We got little time and
lots of cricket to come and for us some players comes and that will be better
and lots of cricket to come."
Sophie Devine (New Zealand Women Captain)- "Today was a great example about how we should proceed our game in the future. We have series against India and Bangladesh later in this year. We played good cricket. Amy and Dean shared a good partnership in the first game and snatched the game from us. We did a lot of hard work and as a result our youngsters are playing good cricket.
We have to accept how hard it is to perform in the sports. We have to give time to our youngsters. Everyone of us deserves a good break time after today. We have to do a lot of hard work and then come back for the series against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. We have to compete with top three teams in the world and we have to be prepared for that.
I am proud of our performance"
Amy Jones (Player of the Series) : "In general, we just tried to play according to the situation. I have struggled in the past in some situations, but here I just tried to be consistent with the performance. The conditions over here are also very similar to that back at home. It also kept challenging us at times and we also liked it. There were some quick learnings from the run-chase in the first game and helped me a lot in performing better in next two games."
Player of the Series- Amy Jones
Sophie Devine (Player of the Match)- "No not at all. I never thought that I have to reach the century. I just wanted to chase the run as quickly as possible with more wickets in hand. I just focused on leading from the front. The partnership with Melie(Amelia Kerr) and Maddy Green was instrumental for our win. We had to go for attacking the English attack. They have played an excellent cricket throughout the ODI and T20I series."
