England now take a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. The second ODI is scheduled for Thursday, with Ireland looking to bounce back and level the series.
A clinical performance from England as they made light work of this run chase. Ireland posted their highest ODI total against England in the first innings, but the hosts chased it down with ease to register their highest successful run chase in ODIs.

Charlie Dean (England Women Captain): "(On the performance from the girls) Yeah, it was amazing to chase a high total like that down. And the way that we did it, credit to the girls. We probably could have been a bit tighter with the ball I guess to be honest. To manage to restrict them under 300 and then chase it down like that was brilliant.
(On being a bit rusty in the field) Yeah, 100%. We know that the outfield in Derby can be a bit tricky. We will try to make positive impacts all the way throughout the game. I can't blame the girls for that. I think we can definitely sharpen up in the field. With the ball, I am looking forward to see what shapes up in the next game.
(On the run chase) Yeah, we had a discussion of trying to take on the powerplay as much as possible in 50-over cricket. It feels like a brilliant blueprint in how to bat. They did it remarkably well and didn't slow down after the powerplay, still managed to extend that partnership and yeah, Bouch (Bouchier) managed to get a hundred today feels exceptional. All the girls chipped in for us. Kempy (Kemp) at the end did a brilliant job, too."

Gaby Lewis (Ireland Women Captain): "(Her assessment on the game) Well, that's a great question. I think at the midway point, we definitely had a lot of confidence going into the innings. Well, yeah, I guess the way they attacked our bowlers in the powerplay, put us under the pump. We struggled to build that pressure which came in dots. But, I think there were definitely some positives. We managed to build some partnerships and managed to end our innings on a strong note with the bat. Hopefully the complete performance with come in the later half of the series.
(Approach of their batting innings) Yeah, that was something we really worked on after the West Indies series. We wanted to bounce back and work on these things. I was really happy to see the way we played today. Towards our backend of our innings, the way we finished off the innings was outstanding to see.
(On their bowling performance) Well, I guess the way they played and managed to put our bowlers out of our line by using their crease and putting us under the pump. We want to deal with that and execute better with the ball. We will try to execute our skills under pressure.
(Lots of positivity going into the 2nd ODI) Yeah, that's the beauty of this championship. I know the series is important but a win here and there does a world of good for us moving into qualification. That's what we are looking for."

Maia Bouchier (Player of the Match): "(What's more difficult - scoring a hundred or holding that bottle of champagne?) I think this one, to be honest (champagne) (chuckles). But to be honest, very happy to get that big score. Something that we talked about in the dressing room, going confidently into the first 10. We took the pressure off early on. As a team, we played very well, Freya coming in and smashing that knock.
(On the big score) That's what I've been working on, working with Lottie on what I can do, and how I can go about it, being proactive at the start of my innings. Scoring a couple of hundreds at the start of the summer - that helped me quite a bit.
(On domestic cricket working for her) Domestic cricket helped me, especially coming into the end of the summer. We get back into the mindset of 50-over cricket, remembering that we have time. It's a new group, new faces in the side, and a lot of different conversations.
(On Orla Prendergast) She bowled well, put us in a bit of pressure early on. We (she and Sophia Dunkley) kept talking about being proactive and positive, did that well throughout the game. Kempy (Freya) the way she came in and played at the end was important."
