Nottinghamshire won the toss and elected to bowl first, and for much of the innings they were ahead until an unbeaten 54 run-stand between Ashton Turner and Ben Raine for the 7th wicket, took Durham's score to 160/6 at the end of their 20 overs.
Ashton Turner top scored for Durham with an unbeaten 44 runs in 31 balls.
Come the chase, Durham started brightly with the ball by picking up 1 wicket early in the powerplay. However, Nottinghamshire recovered quickly for a quick-fire 40 run partnership for the second wicket before Raine picked up the wicket of Clarke off the penultimate ball of the powerplay. Notts were at 51/2 after the first 6 overs.
The introduction of Callum Parkinson saw the game swing in favour of Durham once again, as the southpaw spinner picked up 2 wickets in 3 balls to throw a wrench in Notts' plans. Nottinghamshire never recovered after that double wicket over and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Despite Farooqi and Stone's resistance for the last wicket, the damage was too severe to recover once more and trouble Durham's cruise to victory.
