AkshayaKrishna Polya here signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Ayan Chatterjee and Ninaad Dixit, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Paras Yadav brought you all the live-action of this run-fest from Kolkata. We will meet again in the next match. Until then, it's cheers!
Ajinkya Rahane (Player of theMatch): "Just clear mindset and nothing else. If your mind is right, then you can do anything. The process is good and I am enjoying myself. The track was sticky initially and then it got better. We had a good start and then I came and went about their business. I am enjoying my knocks and enjoying each and every one of it.
I am enjoying playing under Mahi bhai. He teaches us a lot and you listen to it and get better. It's a learning curve for all of us and it's a pleasure playing under him."
MS Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings Captain): "I would just say thank for the support. You know, they came in big numbers. Usually, they would come dressed in KKR jersey colour. Maybe to give me a farewell they have come in numbers wearing yellow jerseys. It's good to see such support. They will come wearing their team jerseys in the upcoming games. However, thanks crowd for the support.
Our fast bowlers are doing the job and so are the spinners. We knew that one side of the ground is slightly longer than the other side. Hence we bowled to that longer side and made them hit to that side. They have plenty of power hitters and hence you need to respect the opposition.
We have a simple funda, if a player is injured then he can't do anything. You have to keep motivating the youngsters as they play each game. We have been fortunate to see all the players perform.
(On Rahane) We know the player's potential. We know his strengths and will allow him to bat the way he wants. Giving the freedom to play the way one wants and giving him the best possible slot to bat is an important thing. In a team game, one has to sacrifice a slot to allow others to get the best possible position to bat."
Active Catch of the Match: Ravindra Jadeja.
Longest six of the match: Jason Roy (91m).
Most Fours of the match: Ajinkya Rahane.
Most Valuable Asset Player of the Match: Ajinkya Rahane.
