Shuvagata Hom, Chattogram Challengers skipper: "We were planning to play some sensible cricket. Happy with how we batted especially Afif Hossain and Darwish Rasooli!"
Afif Hossain: "I just stayed on the crease. I had belief in my game that if I stay then I will win the game for my team. Usually the wickets are good here and with the dew its little bit tough for the bowlers so it helped us a lot and I just tried to rotate the strike and just wanted to take one over at a time. I just want to enjoy my batting in any situation."
Afif Hossain is the player of the match.
Time for the Post-match Presentation!
Nasir Hossain: Disappointing because we were at least 20-30 short. Also the first 10 overs, we didn't quite go at the pace we wanted with the bat. We will look to bounce back strong in the next game.
What a convincing win for Chattogram Challengers in the end! Dhaka Dominators put on a fighting total of 158-6 but Chattogram have made light work of it. Taskin Ahmed provided Dhaka a rocking start by castling Al Amin Jr for a duck but the duo of Usman Khan and Afif Hossain built up a useful partnership. Usman was nursing a knee injury but he managed to play at run-a-ball while Afif Hossain took on the aggressor's role. Arafat Sunny provided a much-needed breakthrough for Dhaka by removing Usman in the 8th over but there was no stopping Afif Hossain. Afif continued to produce boundaries at regular intervals even while Darwish Rasooli seemed to be putting pressure on him.
The Afghan batsman was scratchy at 19 off 25 balls with Chattogram requiring 39 runs off the last four overs as things began to get interesting. However, out of nowhere, Rasooli switched on the gears and smacked Al Amin Hossain for three maximums and one four. Rasooli took on Taskin Ahmed and finished off the game with plenty of balls to spare!
17.4 T Ahmed to D Rasooli
4 THAT IS IT!! CHATTOGRAM FINISH IT OFF! Yorker outside-off, Rasooli looks to guide it through third but he gets an inside-edge towards fine-leg for a boundary. He finishes off the match with 14 balls to spare!
