The Women's Super Smash was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain earlier. However, the groundsmen showcased stupendous efforts in preparing the field for the Men's Super Smash as soon as the rain stopped.
The match was reduced to 11 overs per side. Canterbury won the toss and invited Central Stags to bat first. The Stags got off to a horrible start as they lost four wickets within 5 overs and were reeling at 21/4 in 4.5 overs when the rain returned, leading to the match being called off. W WICKET!!!! Henry with a good length ball at the off stump line. Clarkson tries to heave the ball over the on side but two things goes against him. Firstly, the pace was high and secondly, there was hardly any width given on the ball. As a result, Clarkson gets a huge top edge and Mitchell stationed at cover moves a few steps forward and takes a simple catch.
