That's it from our coverage of the CPL eliminator! Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh and scorer/analyst Sachin Yadav. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
The Antigua & Barbuda Falcons will take on the Guyana Amazon Warriors in Qualifier 1 tomorrow at 5:30 AM IST, 8 PM Local Time. The winner of the contest will book their seats for the finals whereas the loser will have another shot with the 2nd Qualifier slated against the Kingsmen.
Team effort in the first innings with the ball and then a stormy 112 from Maaz Sadaqat to set up the chase for the Kings men have put them one step closer to the finals. Barbados Tridents' journey coming to an end in front of their home crowd.
Rovman Powell (Jamaica Kingsmen Captain): "[How special was that run chase?] Yeah, it was very special. We discussed it as a team. If top 2 or top 3 batters can give us a very good start, a very good platform. Then it allows myself, Andre and Hassan and those power hitters, with a platform being laid to come out and express ourselves a bit more.

[Pleased with the bowling effort at halfway stage?] At the halfway stage, we were very very pleased. You know, if you would have given us 144 to chase, we would have taken it. You know, having said that they were four down in the powerplay but credit have to be given to Quinny and their captain, Chris Green. I think, they batted really well.

[On not bowling Vitel Lawes more] I think it is a case of we have realised a few patterns with our team. You know, it is a case of myself also learning as a captain. I want to give him a lot of confidence, a lot of know how to go out and bowl. But we have seen a trend where if he bowls back to back overs, he generally gets scored off. The last game he played, he bowled two, three good overs, and then in the last over they take him down just a bit. So it's a case of me just trying to make some matchups as a captain and see how best I can come up with 20 overs instead of having somebody who hasn't bowled or over-bowled the last over.

[On Andre Russell's fitness] He's good. He was also fit for us to bat tonight. He's just a little bit jaded. Obviously, Andre is closer to 40 than he is to 30, so he's somebody that we have to keep on taking care of. But tonight he was special. We talked about getting early wickets, something he hadn't really done for us all season. But in a playoff game, we know that our big players have to stand up. Handing the ball to him tonight and telling him to get me one or two in the powerplay - he did exactly that.

[His message to the Kingsmen ahead of Qualifier 2] I think it's a case of us replicating our performance. Tonight was good. We didn't field as well as we wanted, so that is also something for us to work on. If we can also as a group improve 10-15 percent, I'm very big on that, if we can keep on improving as a group, now is the time for us to rack up those very good performances."
Chris Green (Barbados Tridents Captain): "[on the total] We scraped our way to a decent total. Conditions were tough. We were blown away a little bit in the powerplay. Anytime you lose 4 wickets in the powerplay, it's a tough ask. We got to a total which was defendable but unfortunately the dew factor came in and Maaz Sadaqat blew us away. What an incredible knock, to score a 100 in an eliminator. His striking ability from the get go, his ability to find the boundary, he was the only one that was able to do that consistently tonight on that wicket. Full credit to Jamaica. Proud of our efforts, we didn't gave up. We were just blown away by both the powerplays.

[on their bowling] Felt like everything we threw at Maaz, he had an answer. The ball from the get go was soaking wet. I know once Samsey's first ball went over the top and came back, I caught it in the slip and it was wet. Conditions suited them and that's been the case throughout here. We won 5 tosses and bowled first. They had the better of the conditions tonight and they blew us away. I don't think we weren't too far away. We may have bowled a little too quick as spinners but with a wet ball, it's tough to be brave and bowl a little been slower.

[on whether bowling more seam first up would have been better] The first over Sams bowled went for 12. We felt like with the wet ball, I had to front load spin as much as possible to try and get some grip off that surface. 2 left-handers at strike, myself and Ghazanfar are two experienced off spinners and we've got to try and come up with answers to that. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap. A hundred in the playoff and what an incredible knock.

[on the campaign] It was a tale of 2 halves. We started off nicely, lost our way out in the middle and came back here. Really impressive to win 4 out of 5 at home, secure a qualification. First and foremost, I want to thank the crowd of Barbados to support us. Hopefully we entertained them, put on a good enough show. There's so much for my group to learn and to be proud of throughout the season. Both individually and as a collective as well. Unfortunately went out in a way where we didn't quite play our best cricket but like I said, you've got to tip your hat when the opposition blows you away and tonight they did that."
Maaz Sadaqat (POTM): "[On youngest player to hit a ton in CPL] This was my first hundred. It is an achievement; everyone believed in me, especially the management and the backroom staff. All the credit goes to them.

[On his innings] The way cricket is plays these days, strike-rate matters a lot in T20s. I just tried to follow that and it paid off.

[Playing with Kirk McKenzie] Yeah, I told him that I am hitting it well, so give me strike. That was the conversation between us.

[On the partnership] It matters a lot. On this wicket, partnership was important. It was spinning and back-to-back wickets could make it tricky.

[On his own form] I am feeling good. Initially, I wasn't playing well but now I have the confidence as I did well in the last game as well as tonight."
Player of the Match: Maaz Sadaqat
8:03 AM IST, 10:33 PM Local Time: The Jamaica Kingsmen stay alive in the competition with a thumping win against the Barbados Tridents in the CPL eliminator. Maaz Sadaqat hits his maiden T20 ton to take the side home with 29 deliveries left in the game.
The Tridents won the toss at home and elected to bat first. Spinners Hassan Khan (1/16) and Saim Ayub (1/28) alongside Andre Russell (2/36) and Hunain Shah (1/25) broke the back of the top and middle order but it was the experienced pair of Quinton de Kock (71 off 49) and skipper Chris Green (57* off 44) who added 114 runs for the 6th wicket - the skipper also fetching his career best score to take the side to a competitive 144/6 in 20 overs.
What looked a competitive total thanks to the sharp turn and bounce the spinners were extracting and this being the home turf for the Tridents - the youngster Maaz Sadaqat proved this to be a much below par total with 9 fours and 8 sixes in his knock.
