The decision to bowl first by Pakistan A Women did not go according to plan in this crucial knockout clash. It turned out to be a commanding and well-deserved victory for Bangladesh A Women in the second semi-final. They have booked their place in the Grand Finale where they will take on India A Women.
For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash who, along with scorer/analyst Rajesh Pal brought all the actions of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. BYE BYE👋
Fahima Khatun (POTM & Bangladesh A Women Captain): "We won the game, but I felt we were about 25 runs short. I was hoping to bat through till the end. However, we were confident because our bowlers have performed well throughout the tournament. There’s just one more day to go, and I hope we can deliver a strong performance in the big game."
Player of the Match: Fahima Khatun
Hafsa Khalid (Pakistan A Women Captain): "We weren't able to execute our plans. We gave away too many runs and we didn't bat well too. Congratulations to Bangladesh as they played better cricket than us.
We didn't get off to a good start with the bat. We kept losing wickets in our innings which costed us the match.
Yeah, we have so many memories from here on. We will learn a lot from this game."
3:23 PM IST, 4:53 PM Local Time: An excellent bowling display from Bangladesh A Women saw them successfully defend a modest total of 110 and register a commanding 54-run victory to secure their place in the grand finale.
Earlier, Bangladesh A Women posted 110/8 in their 20 overs, thanks largely to a composed captain’s innings from Fahima Khatun. They were 27/1 at the end of the Powerplay and 44/3 at the halfway stage, struggling to find momentum as wickets fell at regular intervals. Fahima Khatun anchored the innings with an unbeaten 40 off 32 balls, standing firm while the rest of the batting line-up faltered, with no other batter outside the top four reaching double figures. Her steady knock lifted the side to a fighting total of 110/8, giving the bowlers something to defend. Hafsa Khalid was the standout performer with the ball for Pakistan A, returning figures of 2/25. In reply, Pakistan A Women endured a disastrous start, losing wickets at regular intervals and failing to build any meaningful partnerships. Bangladesh A Women maintained relentless pressure throughout. Shawaal Zulfiqar looked to settle in but managed only 14 off 17 balls. The Girls in Green collapsed for just 56 in the 17th over, handing Bangladesh A a dominant 54-run victory. The scorecard reflected their struggles, with only Yusra Amir (11) and Hafsa Khalid (12) joining Shawaal in reaching double figures. Sanjida Akter Meghla led the bowling effort with three wickets, while Fahima Khatun picked up two. Fariha Trisna, Fatema Jahan Sonia, and Farjana Easmin claimed a wicket each to complete a clinical performance.
W IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! That's the game for Bangladesh A Women. Tossed up delivery outside off, turns back in. Jafri mistimes the slog sweep from the toe end of her blade. The fielder at long on moves to her left and takes a good catch. Pakistan A Women have registered the lowest team total in this tournament. Bangladesh A Women win by 54 runs and they will face India A Women in the Final.
