Australia Women have taken an unassailable lead in the series. They will be eyeing a whitewash whereas West Indies Women will be hoping for a consolation win in the third and final game of the T20I series, which will be played on Monday. Do join us for that. Also, keep joining us for more cricketing action all around the globe. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator, Deepak Prakash and scorer Sachin Yadav. Bye bye.
Sophie Molineux (Australia Women Captain): "[How pleased are you with that performance?] It was good. It was a hard-fought contest. The Windies came hard at us, which we always knew they would. There are plenty of positives to take away from this performance.

[On Voll] She’s awesome and really sets the tone for us at the start of the innings. We keep backing her to play her natural game, and when it comes off, she strikes the ball really well. It was great to see her get runs, and that momentum flowed through the rest of the innings as well.

[On Alana King's bowling] Yeah, she is. It’s great to see Kingy out there, and she bowled some really tough overs as well. The game was in the balance, and we threw the ball to her, and she delivered. Georgia Wareham and Kim Garth also bowled really well. I think that kind of partnership in bowling is something we’re trying to emphasize. Kingy picked up the wickets, but overall, it was a really strong team effort.

[Has anything come clearer in your mind about what's going to happen in England in June?] No, we just want to keep playing strong cricket. First and foremost, we aim to win the series 3-0 and then move on to the ODIs. It’s been a good start so far, and we want to build on it."
Hayley Matthews (West Indies Women Captain): "[You must feel good to be back in form again?] Oh yeah, I’m happy that I was able to strike the ball better towards the end. I’m probably a bit disappointed with the start I had at the crease, but I’m really glad that I was able to stick in and get myself a total.

[Positives?] Yeah, I think firstly in our bowling innings, they got off to a pretty strong start, but the way we pulled things back to restrict them to 164 showed a lot of courage, especially in the middle overs and at the death. Then, to get close in the chase today is definitely an improvement from where we’ve been previously. We just need to put together a complete performance now, but there are certainly a lot of positives to take from different areas in the first two matches.

[On Dottin's unbeaten 39] She definitely would have wanted to be in better form and find her rhythm. So yeah, I’m really pleased and happy, and I think she’ll be glad too with the way she struck the ball today."
Alana King (Player of the Match): "[What's working for her?] I'm loving how the ball is coming out of the hand. I'm loving the challenge of bowling in the powerplay. West Indies have got real hitters of a cricket ball and I'm loving the challenge to bowl to them in the powerplay.

[On making a comeback into the side] I'm just grateful for the opportunity and just trying to grab it with both hands. I'm just trying to enjoy my time in the squad."

7:14 AM IST, 9:44 PM Local Time: An excellent all-round display from Australia Women as they win the second T20I by 17 runs and seal the series with a game to spare.

Earlier, Australia Women posted 164/5 at the end of their innings. After electing to bat first, Georgia Voll provided a brisk start with a fluent 39 off 23 balls, adding 54 runs with Beth Mooney, who struggled for rhythm and fell for 17. At the halfway stage, Australia were well placed at 86/2, with Phoebe Litchfield and Ellyse Perry building a strong platform.

The duo added a valuable 58-run partnership, with Litchfield scoring 35 before falling to Hayley Matthews in the 16th over. Perry followed after a composed 42 off 28 balls, despite receiving a life earlier in her innings. West Indies pulled things back impressively in the death overs, conceding just 20 runs in the final three overs.

Deandra Dottin, Jahzara Claxton, Hayley Matthews, Karishma Ramharack, and Afy Fletcher picked up a wicket each for the hosts.

In reply, West Indies Women lost Qiana Joseph for 11 runs in the form of a run-out, but Hayley Matthews and Stafanie Taylor played cautiously to build a partnership in the middle. Matthews stepped on the accelerator as the innings progressed and scored briskly, bringing up her fifty and keeping her side in the hunt. However, Alana King trapped Matthews for 56, breaking the 77-run second-wicket stand. The leg-spinner later dismissed Taylor (22 off 27), putting the hosts in a spot of bother as the required run rate climbed past 10 runs per over.

Australia tightened the screws further and didn’t allow the batters to free their arms. The key player, Deandra Dottin (38*), spent time in the middle but failed to accelerate when required. She struck a couple of boundaries off the third and fourth balls of the final over, but the game was already beyond the hosts by then, and they eventually managed only 147/4 in their 20 overs.

Alana King bagged a couple of wickets for Australia, while Georgia Wareham chipped in with a solitary wicket.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentation…..
