And now, the celebrations begin as captain Tahlia McGrath collects the trophy and joins her teammates behind the WINNERS board, the Australian squad gathering together for the photographs. There are cheers, laughter and plenty of smiles as the champions savour a thoroughly deserved series sweep.
Soon, a few young Bangladeshi players approach Ellyse Perry, a legend of the game, for photographs alongside one of cricket’s most admired figures. It is a lovely sight, as the result is set aside for a moment, with admiration, warmth and camaraderie taking centre stage.
And so, the series ends with Australia standing tall - three wins, three convincing chases, and a clean sweep. Their bowlers repeatedly exposed Bangladesh’s top-order vulnerability, while their batters made every target look smaller than it was. Schutt supplied the swing and steel - Mostary and Nigar offered Bangladesh a glimpse of resistance - Perry and Sutherland delivered the final flourish.
For Bangladesh, the lessons are clear - stronger starts and more support for their middle-order fighters are essential. For Australia, the takeaway is just as striking - their depth, discipline and ability to turn pressure into dominance have been on full display. Clinical with the ball, commanding with the bat, and relentless from start to finish. That is Australia’s story from Brisbane.
Tahlia McGrath (Australia Women Captain): (On Australia's performance) "Yeah, very happy, and Schutt was amazing. She's been in and out of the side a little bit lately, and when you give her an opportunity, she'll take it. She was unbelievable in these three games, and I'm really happy for her. The Player of the Series award is very well deserved.
(On Australia's approach to the series) We really wanted to play our style, play our brand of cricket, and be consistent with that throughout, and I think we did that. I think we achieved that. Our quicks were unbelievable, and we bowled really well throughout the series. Our top order was clinical and got the job done without any stress in every game.
(On Bangladesh's performance) Absolutely, they have some really exciting talent. They're probably known for their spin, but what they showed in this series was that they fielded unbelievably well, had some really good individual scores with the bat, and have some talented bowlers. I think cricket is looking pretty bright for Bangladesh."
Nigar Sultana (Bangladesh Women Captain):[on the series] "Each and every game, one of the player came up for the team and we have taken a lot of positives from here and will implement them in the future.
[on the positives] We have seen a few young players do well. We had 2 debutants as well. It was challenging for them but they gave their 100% in the middle.
[on their time in Australia] We will take a lot of learnings from this. Few individual players were outstanding throughout the series."
Megan Schutt (Player of the Match & Series): "(How is she feeling) Yeah, it feels really nice. As I said, I really love bowling here at the AB. It's been nice.
(On bowling 10 overs on the trot) Yeah, the legs are fine, actually. I was pushing to see how many I can get. Had a chat with T (Tahlia) as well. Tried to bowl out early and finish up.
(On having so much depth in the side) Well, we have always spoken about the depth we have in this team. I think it's the transition which can be seen as well. Everyone are just doing their job. Plenty of talent in the bench as well which is awesome.
(On her own bowling performance in this series) Yeah, happy with that. I feel every bit of 33 to be honest. I will wake up sore tomorrow morning for sure. Yeah, just trying to stick around with this team to be honest."

2:44 PM IST, 7:14 PM Local Time:Australia Women have completed a dominant, dazzling, and thoroughly deserved 3-0 series sweep, once again making light work of Bangladesh Women in Brisbane. Bangladesh found a way to rise from the ruins of their top-order collapse, with Sharmin Akhter and Shorna Akter fighting back to post 172, but Australia responded with ruthless, effortless efficiency. Ellyse Perry and Annabel Sutherland took charge after two early wickets, stitching together an unbeaten partnership that swept the hosts to a comfortable eight-wicket victory with 164 balls remaining. Three matches, three wins, and a series in which Australia barely allowed their visitors a foothold.
Bangladesh’s innings began with familiar heartbreak. For the third successive match, they lost early wickets inside the Powerplay, but Sharmin Akhter and Shorna Akter refused to let the innings fade away. They dug in and weathered the pressure. Their resistance helped Bangladesh reach 172, but Schutt’s outstanding 4/16 had already ensured Australia would be chasing a manageable target.
Australia’s reply began at a lively pace, although Bangladesh briefly offered hope by dismissing Georgia Voll for 11 and Beth Mooney for 21. But Perry and Sutherland soon shut the door. Their unbeaten 137-run partnership turned the chase into a procession, and both batters reached half-centuries. Bangladesh searched for a breakthrough, but the partnership would not be broken. Australia sealed the chase at 175/2 in 22.4 overs, without allowing the contest to stretch into its final act.
