Ben Manenti (Ghent Gladiators):"(How's the emotion right now?) It's been an interesting week. We played three or four games. We saved our best for the last ball. A super over, a finish in the second last ball- a good week it is.
(You had six washouts and then you won the final) At the end of the round robins, the boys were ready to go. It was an up and down week but it feels to play our best on the day.
(What you guys did well as a group?) We sorted the stuffs well. We were annoyed at the washouts but every time we stepped in the field, we tried to play our best cricket. We enjoyed each others company.
(On the celebrations tonight) Nothing planned. I have not thought about it. I have an early morning flight tomorrow."
Martin Guptill: "(On the defeat in the final) Ya of course! Any time you lose the final it is disappointing. When you get so close specially! Tristan Luus came in with just four to defend and he did a marvelous job.
(Where did the game flip away from you?) Never really felt it. Couple of wickets were the difference and we could have come back. Pressure, dot balls and everything happened.
(As a skipper, what makes you proud?) The whole group. Not many people would have done well in a short time. A good couple of weeks and a good all-round showdown from them.
(Are you thinking about coming back with the group?) Yes it was a great time. Great group of people. Hope we will be together next year."
11:22 PM IST, 7:52 PM Local Time: Dwaine Pretorius hits the all-important boundary and Ghent Gladiators win the final by three wickets. Ghent Gladiators are the champions of the inaugural season of the EUT20 Belgium League.
After being given a target of 179 runs by Antwerp Anchors, Ghent Gladiators had a wonderful start. Opening batter Sam Harper was like a man on a mission as he smashed boundaries throughout the powerplay. He and his opening partner, George Munsey, reached the 50-run mark inside the powerplay itself. The opening duo stitched a partnership of 61 runs before Harper departed for 47 off 23 balls.
Josh Brown then came in and he started attacking right from ball one. Brown scored 40 runs off just 22 balls before being dismissed by Tristan Luus. After his dismissal, skipper Temba Bavuma played attacking shots but he failed to control his nerves and got dismissed while trying to hit a six. Bavuma departed for 28 off 17 balls.
When Bavuma got dismissed, Gladiators needed at just over a run-a-ball and things looked quite easy for them. However, Anchors bowlers bowled out of their skins in the death. Tristan Luus bowled the 18th over and gave just three runs. Ruben Trumpelmann bowled the penultimate over and gave away just four runs.
Luus again got the responsibility to bowl the final over. With just four needed from six balls, it seemed that Gladiators would win with ease. But the South African seamer had other plans and took the game till the second last delivery. Had he not bowled a no-ball for height to Ali Hasan, then things could have been different. With two needed from two, Dwaine Pretorius then gets a leading outside edge and the ball goes to the third man boundary. Gladiators finished the chase with one ball to spare.

19.5 Tristan Luus to Dwaine Pretorius
4 FOUR! Dwaine Pretorius seals the deal with a boundary. Drama! Drama! More drama! But finally it is the Ghent Gladiators who kept their nerves and won the crunch moment and are the deserving winners. Coming to the ball, a length delivery outside off. Cutter. Pretorius gets the room, gets the free-hit opportunity and swings his bat. Not the best of the connection as it goes aerially towards the third man boundary after taking the leading outside edge. Billy Bowden is checking for the boundary. TV Umpire is summoned but it hardly matters to Pretorius and Gladiators. Be it a four, be it a six- what is in it? Replay deems it as a boundary and they go home. Luus is down on his haunches but that's how contrasting emotion goes. Temba Bavuma wins yet another tournament final in the month of June! Jubilations all around in the Ghent Gladiators' camp.
It's a no-ball for height. What have you done, Luus? You were bowling so well. The ball has hit Ali on his chest. He is down now. Physio comes in to give him medical attention. More importantly, Gladiators have now got a free hit.
19.5 Tristan Luus to Ali Hasan
1nb NO-BALL! It is all happening here. Luus does an error and suddenly the pressure gets a paradigm shift to the Anchors' dug-out. Luus steams in from over the stumps and tries to attack Hasan's body. He attempts a yorker but it slips out off the hand and comes as a high full toss to Ali Hasan. He swings his bat as an evasive action but gets it on the gloves and then to his chest. The ball then rolls to square leg. Billy Bowden signals a no-ball and Hasan is down in pain after completing the single.
19.4 Tristan Luus to Ali Hasan
0 SWING AND A MISS! Four dot balls. Temba Bavuma is animated in the dug-out. He is saying to sneak in a bye at least and get the seasoned campaigner on strike! A good length ball outside off. Ali Hasan swings but misses. 4 required from 2 balls.
