Former India skipper and one of the modern-day batting greats, Rohit Sharma, is known for his six-hitting prowess. He is leading the list of the players with the most sixes in international cricket by a big margin, with the number two being Chris Gayle.

Rohit Sharma has smashed 650 sixes in international cricket across all formats of the game. The difference between him and the former Caribbean great, Chris Gayle, is 97 sixes.

Besides that, none of the currently active players is even close to Rohit’s record. However, there are some players in the current pool of international cricketers who can boast of breaking Rohit’s record of most sixes in international cricket.

That said, here’s a look at the 5 players who can break Rohit Sharma’s record of 650 sixes in international cricket.

5 Players who can break Rohit Sharma's 650 sixes in international cricket record

Abhishek Sharma - India

The blistering India opener, Abhishek Sharma, has left everyone awestruck with a sensational start to his T20I career. Within less than two years and his career of just 37 T20Is, Abhishek has crossed the former India legend Yuvraj Singh in terms of hitting the most sixes in T20Is for India.

He has smashed 86 sixes so far in his international career and he might enter the top five Indian batters with the most sixes in the format. Besides that, the young southpaw can also cross Rohit Sharma’s record of 205 sixes in T20Is.

Apart from that, if Abhishek also gets a chance to feature in ODIs for India in future, he can surpass Rohit Sharma’s record of most sixes in international cricket.

Travis Head - Australia

The star Australia opener, Travis Head, has been in an amazing run of form with the bat across all formats of the game. He is the leading run-scorer for Australia since the ODI World Cup 2023, scoring 3,062 runs in 84 innings of the 66 games he has played across all formats of the game.

Besides that, he has also smashed 77 sixes, the most by any Aussie batter in this time period. His six-hitting prowess is one of the biggest positives with him as a top-order batter for his side.

Therefore, Head is also capable of breaking Rohit's record of 650 sixes in international cricket.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi - India

India’s teenage batting sensation, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, has amazed everyone with his batting talent in both T20s and List-A cricket. He smashed 62 sixes in 18 innings of the 18 T20s he has played so far, alongside smashing 23 sixes in eight List-A innings.

Suryavanshi also made it to the headlines for his two swashbuckling half-centuries in the Rising Stars Asia Cup and the U19 Asia Cup. So, he seems to have enough time and years left to break Rohit Sharma’s record for most sixes in international cricket.

Nicholas Pooran - India

The blistering Caribbean middle-order batter, Nicholas Pooran, is known for accelerating the innings at will. He has the ability to convert the quick starts into the big knocks. Pooran has smashed 149 sixes in 97 T20I innings he has batted, alongside hitting 80 sixes in 58 ODI innings.

Hence, Nicholas Pooran has a chance to become the batter with the most sixes in international cricket, given the years of cricket he has left. The southpaw has already smashed 229 sixes in international cricket and is expected to get a lot of chances to feature in international cricket in future.

Dewald Brevis - South Africa

In his international career of just 2.5 years, the young Proteas middle-order batter, Dewald Brevis, has established himself as a destructive power-hitter. He has smashed a total of 55 sixes in 35 innings of 34 international games he has played across all formats.

Besides that, he has smashed 226 sixes in T20s, alongside 75 and 36 sixes in List-A and First-Class, respectively. Brevis recently headlined for his valiant century in the SA20 2026 final that unfortunately ended on the losing side.

So, the 22-year-old also seems to have the potential for breaking the former India skipper’s record of 650 sixes in international cricket.
