Time for us to conclude our coverage from this warm-up fixture of ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 between Nepal and UAE. Nepal did well in the chase during the middle overs courtesy of Dipendra Singh Airee and Aarif Sheikh and emerged out victorious by 7 wickets.
For now, this is your text commentator Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of the scorer/analyst Danish Elahi. A special mention goes to Pritam Dey for his help in the backend. Good night.
8:12 PM IST and Local Time: Nepal have clinched a fine victory over UAE in their first warm-up game. They have easily chased down the 146-run target with three overs to go and have won it by a margin of 7 wickets.
Earlier Nepal won the toss and sent UAE to bat first. UAE lost their first wicket as Muhammad Waseem got out for 6. Aryansh Sharma and Zuhaib Khan then batted for a bit and added 35 runs for the second wicket. The collapse then came for UAE. Zuhaib's struggle came to an end on 19. Aryansh Sharma was batting well but Sandeep Lamichhane got the better of him on 25. Alishan Sharafu and Mayank Kumar got out cheaply and suddenly the UAE side were reduced to 66/5.
Things changed dramatically for UAE when Harshit Kaushik and Sohaib Khan came to bat. They initially took their time and then went hammer and tongs against the Nepal bowlers. They added 68 runs from 45 balls in their partnership before Harshit got out for 35. Sohaib Khan remained unbeaten on 38 off 27 balls hitting 3 fours and a maximum.
For Nepal, Karan KC and Sandeep Lamichhane took a couple of wickets each and Dipendra Singh Airee took one wicket.
Nepal came to bat and they lost both of their openers for cheap scores. Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh got dismissed for an ideal score of 8 and that led Nepal to be in trouble. Rohit Paudel played out the new ball but got dismissed as run out on his personal score of 16 off 19 balls.
Aarif Sheikh came to join Dipendra Singh Airee in the crease when the scoreboard read 45/3 for Nepal. The duo were very sedate throughout their innings. They decided to go as per the asking rate and after the halfway mark, they hit a boundary every over to bring the equation into their favour. Aarif Sheikh hit 8 fours and a couple of maximums to remain unbeaten on 61 off 37 balls. His partner Dipendra also reached his fifty and remained unbeaten on 50 off 31 balls with 4 fours and a maximum. In the last three overs, they went berserk and took 45 from those to take their side over the line with three overs to go.
Rohid Khan was the only silver lining in the UAE bowling and he took the wicket of Kushal Bhurtel.

4 FOURRR! Aarif Sheikh brings up the victory and also the hundred-run partnership with Dipendra Singh Airee with this boundary. Short of length delivery around the leg stump. Aarif shuffles across to get inside the line and pulls it to beat the short fine leg fielder to his left for a boundary.
16.5 M Arfan to A Sheikh
0 Fuller than length at the off stump. Aarif pushes it to cover.
16.5 M Arfan to A Sheikh
WD Wide ball. Slower delivery on length but just down the leg side. Aarif misses the nudge.
1 Dipendra Singh Airee gets to his fifty too. Fuller than length at the leg stump. Airee flicks it to deep midwicket for one. These two batters are in absolute fire today.
