3:10 PM IST and Local Time: Phew! Those last 3 overs were out of a video game! The hitting on display was par excellence! Venky Iyer and Tripuresh Singh have pulled back a game from the dead! The win looked inevitable but the time that they had to do it in looked a tough ask! The batting pair beat all odds to ace the challenge.
MP won the toss and elected to field first. Karnataka started off in fine fashion. Both their openers were up to the task. Mayank Agarwal and Devdutt Padikkal played some sumptuous strokes and rotated the strike well. They got the score to 77 before Padikkal was cleaned up.
Karun Nair joined Mayank, and the pair took the score further before Nair was run out by sheer brilliance in the field. Things looked comfortable for Karnataka at 118/2 but that is when it started to go downhill. Mayank Agarwal on 49, hit a short ball by the Kumar Kartikeya into the hands of deep midwicket.
Shivang Kumar came into the attack and ran through the Karnataka middle order. His googlies were unplayable. From 118/2 the Karnataka boys slipped to 160/8. Shivang took his first ever fifer in List A cricket. Abhilash Shetty and Vidyadhar Patil stitched a partnership that took Karnataka from 160/8 to 205/9 before getting bowled out for 207. The pick of the bowlers was Shivang Kumar for his 5-45.

To everyone's surprise before Rajat Patidar, it was Tripuresh Singh who walked out to bat. The equation came down to 71 runs to win off 4.3 overs to stay in the race. One at that point felt that the MP side left it too late for themselves. Tripuresh Singh though had different plans. He smoked 23 of that over. Venky Iyer joined the party and scored 23 of the next.
It came down to 25 runs of just 2.3 overs and the equation looked much more possible. With some insane hitting from the pair, they chased the total down in just 23.2 overs. Venky Iyer was not out on 65 off 32 balls. Tripuresh Singh with 36 off 12 balls.
