That marks the end of our coverage from the first Qualifier of NPL 2025 between Sudurpaschim Royals and Biratnagar Kings. Sudurpaschim Royals have completely obliterated the Kings to get to the summit clash. Biratnagar Kings will get another bite at the cherry as they will play the qualifier 2 against the winner of the eliminator. The Eliminator will be played tomorrow between Kathmandu Gorkhas and Lumbini Lions.
For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Manan Mehta and the scorer/analyst of this match Rajesh Pal.
Dipendra Singh Airee (Sudurpaschim Royals Captain):"Ya one match we have. Yes the wicket was little bit turning so I felt 150 is a good score. Team work is there and I am very happy with that.
I put a lot of effort but when I drop catches, I get hurt. Yes we have one game left and we will come with full spirit and hope we will do well. (A few words for the fans) Thanks for supporting us always through the season."
Binod Bhandari (POTM): "Eventually what matters is the teams win. Individual performances don't matter if you don't win games, so I am happy to contribute for my side.
Yes, it was a big game, and we all performed as a unit. Happy to beat the Kings, they played well a few days back and we have responded in style."

Time for the post-match presentations...
6:56 PM IST and 7:11 PM Local Time : Sudurpaschim Royals have made it to the summit clash of NPL 2025 by decimating the Biratnagar Kings by a gargantuan margin of 78 runs. Biratnagar Kings will get another bite at the cherry against the winner of the Eliminator clash to make it to the finale.
Biratnagar Kings won the toss earlier in the game and sent Sudurpaschim Royals to bat first. The Royals batted well and got the early advantage as Sheldon Jackson hit a few boundaries to help his side gain some momentum. Binod Bhandari was the top scorer and his sedate innings created a difference between the two sides. He carried the innings forward when his partners got out after getting starts. Ishan Pandey (13), Harmeet Singh (14) and Aarif Sheikh (20) failed to score big. Binod Bhandari got to his fifty and scored 63 runs off 52 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes to help his side post 155/7 in their 20 overs.
Marchant de Lange and Pratis GC took a couple of wickets each. Surya Tamang and Sam Heazlett took a wicket each for the Kings.
When the Kings came to bat, they fell in all sorts of trouble. Sam Heazlett got out in the very first ball. Martin Guptill got run out as he didn't pay heed to his batting partner and in the next ball, Naren Bhatta got out for a golden duck. With 3/3 on the board, Faf du Plessis had the onus to rebuild and got Basir Ahmad as his partner. They added 39 runs for the 4th wicket but once Basir got out, it opened the floodgates for the Sudurpaschim Royals.
Lokesh Bam, Narayan Joshi got out for low scores. Faf was looking better and scored 36 off 29 balls hitting 3 fours and a maximum but Hemant Dhami got the better of him. As the scoreboard read 59/7, all the hopes sank for the Kings. Marchant de Lange swung his bat to score 15 off 11 balls and reduced the deficit. Eventually Biratnagar Kings got bundled out for 78.
Abinash Bohara, Scott Kuggeleijn, Harmeet Singh took a couple of wickets each for the Sudurpaschim Royals. Hemant Dhami and Dipendra Singh Airee got a wicket each.
