That marks the end of our live coverage from the first game of today's double-header. Biratnagar Kings have defeated Sudurpaschim Royals by a massive margin and have leapfrogged Kathmandu Gorkhas to be at the second position of the points table. Now they have finished the group stage at the second position. Royals will have another face-off with the Kings on Tuesday for the first Qualifier.

For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of the scorer/analyst of this game Sahil Khan.
Sandeep Lamichhane (Biratnagar Kings Captain): "Absolutely koshi koshan hamaro pehchan is the mantra of us! Credit goes to the boys. They took the challenge. Batting first have all the advantage here. It was a must win game for us. We thought to restrict them to 140 but they got 8 more.

I guess the guys have been very supprtive regarding the selection of the playing XI. All of them are great team men. We have two to three areas to improve but still happy to take the team over the line. They showed the character. See Pratish. He came to bowl the final over and did well."
Faf du Plessis (Player of the Match): "It was a nice day. We knew what we wanted to do and glad to execute the things. Oh you just put the commentator's curse on me. But then yes it is a very good part of the world to play cricket in. I enjoyed the helicopter ride.

I think we have seen these wickets earlier and made a game plan. Our opening partnership ebbed and flowed but today we decided to try and take down. It is always important to get a good start. It becomes tricky if you lose wickets in the powerplay.

Beautiful place to play cricket. A lot of fans turned up and they are passionate. I have seen a lot of RCB fans here and that makes it even better (chuckles)."

Time for the post-match presentations.
1:42 PM IST and 1:57 PM Local Time : A carnage from the Biratnagar Kings' batters have helped them to earn a gargantuan victory over Sudurpaschim Royals, who were yet to be beaten by any team in this year's NPL. They have won it by 6 wickets and with 49 balls to go and this massive hike in the NRR has taken them to the second position of the points table.

Biratnagar skipper Sandeep Lamichhane won the toss and sent the Sudurpaschim Royals to bat first. Then he decided to cramp them up by bowling his spinners right from the start.  Binod Bhandari and Josh Brown started well but when Bhandari got out for 15, things got slow for the Royals. Josh Brown and Ishan Pandey then were in the crease and they were batting well until Brown got out for 24. Ishan and Aarif Sheikh then added 72 runs for the third wicket but the pace of the partnership was not good at all. Ishan got out for 38 off Lamichhane and the Kings' skipper removed Harmeet Singh in the very next ball. However a good cameo from Dipendra Singh Airee of 19 runs from 11 balls and an unbeaten 45 off 32 from Aarif Sheikh took the score to 147/6.

For the Biratnagar Kings, Lamichhane was the pick of the bowlers taking 3 wickets for just 20 runs. Pratish GC came to bowl the final over and took 2 wickets conceding only 4 runs.

When Biratnagar Kings came out to bat, their openers went hammer and tongs right from the word go. Faf du Plessis and Sam Heazlett added 87 runs in the first six overs and the Kings were in a comfortable position. Faf took on the spinners and then took the attack on Hikmat Mahara too and got to his fifty in just 19 balls. Abinash Bohara came into the attack and got the better of the Protea legend. Faf scored 50 off 20 balls hitting 5 fours and 4 maximums.

Sam Heazlett was promoted to the opening spot today and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands. He got to his fifty in 26 balls hitting 3 fours and 4 maximums and got out for 51 in the next ball. Martin Guptill hit 3 maximums on his way to score 22 and the Kings lost Basir Ahmad on 8. Pratish GC came in and swung his bat to hit two consecutive maximums to take his team home with 49 balls to go.

For Sudurpaschim Royals, Abinash Bohara took 2 wickets for 38 runs. Harmeet Singh took a wicket too.

6 SIXXXXX MOREEEE! Pratish GC ends the game in style and Biratnagar Kings move to the second position of the points table. This is some carnage that handed Sudurpaschim Royals their first defeat of the season. They have been obliterated. Short of length delivery around the off stump. Pratish swivels and connects the pull to perfection and it flies over deep square leg for a maximum.
