Kathmandu Gorkhas get back to winning ways with an excellent bowling performance! Karan KC led beautifully from the front! He would like to add more wins to his team as we approach the middle stages of the tournament.

I, Manan Mehta would like to take your leave on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and our scorer/analyst for the day, Zeeshan Naiyer.
Karan KC (POTM & Kathmandu Gorkhas Captain): "It’s always my role to score runs for the team at the end. (On the 31-run over) That one is special for me. It was a great team effort — the way we played, some amazing catches as well. This is a crucial win after back-to-back losses, but there are still areas we need to work on, and we’ll look to improve."

It's time for the post-match presentation.....
7:12 PM IST, 7:27 PM Local Time: Kathmandu Gorkhas thump Lumbini Lions by 26 runs and register their second win of the season. It was a horrible batting from the Lions, as they failed to make significant partnerships in the middle and lost wickets in clusters.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Kathmandu Gorkhas posted 157/8 in their 20 overs. They had a shaky start, losing Ben Charlesworth for a golden duck. Aakash Tripathi (32 off 36), Rashid Khan (14 off 10), and Milind Kumar (17 off 20) struggled to lift the scoring rate, leaving the Gorkhas under pressure.

Santosh Yadav added a quick 26 but couldn’t carry on for long. The real momentum shift came from skipper Karan KC, who rescued his side from a precarious position with a blistering cameo. He smashed Ruben Trumpelmann for four sixes and a four in the penultimate over, finishing unbeaten on 34 off just 11 balls and powering his team past the 155-run mark.

Sher Malla, Ruben Trumpelmann, Gulbadin Naib, and Rohit Paudel picked up two wickets each for the Lions, but Trumpelmann’s 31-run over undid their momentum.

In reply, the Lions got off to a brisk start, with D’Arcy Short providing early fireworks as 18 runs came off the opening over. However, he couldn’t build on the momentum and departed after a quick 22 off 11 balls. The Gorkhas tightened their grip from there, triggering a steady slide. Skipper Rohit Paudel (11), Gulbadin Naib (11), JJ Smit (8), Sumit Maharjan (0), and Ruben Trumpelmann (5) all fell cheaply.

Dilip Nath (25) took his time to settle in but was dismissed just when the Lions needed him to accelerate. The Lions were reeling at 104/8 when Sher Malla (27) launched a hat-trick of sixes, providing a glimmer of hope. However, his cameo was short-lived, as he was run out in the very next over. Eventually, Lumbini Lions were folded for 135 runs in 19.1 overs.

Milind Kumar and Gerhard Erasmus picked up two wickets each for the Gorkhas, while the others chipped in with one apiece.

Stay tuned for the presentation.....
