Mohammad Amir (Quetta Qavalry and Player of the Match): "Feels good winning and honestly I was a little nervous heading into the game, because Liam Livingstone has set a really high standard.
I was playing after 2 and half months. I was out after an injury in the CPL and this is my first game after that. I look to pitch the ball up, looking for some swing and it helped me a lot.
Evin Lewis is a great batsman and I am really happy that I do not have to bowl to him."
Player of the match: Mohammad Amir
Time for the post-match presentations...
11:25 PM IST, 9:55 PM Local Time: Quetta Qavalry find a win against UAE Bulls by 9 wickets, as Captain Mohammad Amir turned back the clock and notched up 4 big wickets to restrict the Bulls to a score of 109. Evin Lewis and Muhammad Waseem, finished off the innings, making light work of the run chase to win the game with 10 balls to spare.
Earlier in the evening, Mohammad Amir, captain of the Quetta Qavalry, won the toss and opted to bowl first.
The first innings was divided into two halves, the first half where the two RCB men, Phil Salt and Tim David hammered their way to a comfortable position. And the other where, Mohammad Amir broke the backbone of the UAE Bulls batting order.
Phil Salt, opening the innings, put up a show, scoring 31 runs off 15 balls. 2 fours and 2 sixes in that brisk knock. This was followed by a dominant 23 off 11 from Rovman Powell and an 11 ball 33 from the big Singaporean, Tim David.
UAE Bulls were looking in a good position with 150 on the cards, but this was shortly followed by a scintillating over from Mohammad Amir, picking up the wickets of Iftikhar Ahmed, Tim David and Kieron Pollard in the span of 5 deliveries. Mohammad Amir finished his spell, giving away just 16 runs in 2 overs for 4 big wickets.
This was followed by a car crash finish from the Bulls, as they lost all their wickets trying to notch up as many runs as they could, but they could only reach the score of 109 runs in 10 overs.
With 110 runs to chase, Evin Lewis, started off with a bang. He was scoring runs at a quick pace and was shortly partnered with Muhammed Waseem who took the scoring rate up a notch.
Evin Lewis added an unbeaten 48 runs off 24 deliveries, smashing 3 fours and 3 sixes in the run chase and his partner, Muhammad Waseem, ended up scoring 50 runs off 19 balls not out, with 6 fours and 3 sixes in it.
Quetta Qavalry has won the match by 9 wickets with 10 balls to spare and won their fourth game out of 4 this season. Delhi Bulls have now lost 2 games out of four and need some thinking to do.
4 FOURRR!!! That should be the game for the Quetta Qavalry! Full ball in the slot and Waseem slams it down the ground for a boundary! Gets to his fifty as well and Quetta make it 4 in 4!
