Blair Tickner (Player of the Match): "I sort of knew the hard length was the way to go and we kept things simple throughout.
Yeah, we have a big game coming up and before that we have a travel day. It was nice to have guys back from Blackcaps. Looking forward to the next game."

1:50 PM IST & 9:20 PM Local Time: Phew, it wasn’t as straightforward a chase as it should have been. In the end, the Central Stags got the job done here in Napier, holding their nerve to win by 6 wickets in the final over of the match.
Earlier in the day, Max Chu won the toss and opted to bat first without any hesitation, and his side got off to a flying start. Jamal Todd led the charge inside the powerplay, dealing in boundaries as the Volts raced ahead. The 31-run opening stand was eventually broken by Joey Field and from that point onwards, the Volts suffered a dramatic collapse, losing wickets in clusters.
There were handy contributions up the order, with Jamal Todd scoring 26 off 12, Max Chu adding 20 off 22 and Jack Boyle chipping in with 28 off 14, but no one was able to convert their start into a substantial knock. The Volts continued to lose wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for 133 in just 18 overs. Blair Tickner was the standout with the ball for the Stags, finishing with impressive figures of 4/23, while Joey Field provided excellent support with 3/25.
In reply, the Central Stags got off to a blazing start, with the openers taking the attack to the new-ball bowlers and making full use of the fielding restrictions. They raced to 57/0 at the end of the powerplay, keeping the scoreboard moving with ease. Will Young (62 off 41) and Dean Foxcroft (40 off 44) punished anything loose on offer and rotated the strike well, never allowing the pressure to build. The pair went on to add a commanding 106-run opening stand, a partnership that effectively took the game away from the Volts.
With just 46 needed off 60 balls, the Central Stags surprisingly stumbled and allowed the contest to stretch deep into the innings, dragging it all the way to the final over. The pressure mounted, but skipper Tom Bruce held his nerve, staying unbeaten on 14 off 23 balls and guiding his side over the line. It turned into a nervy finish, but the Central Stags eventually sealed a 6-wicket victory.
