Gulbarga Mystics won the toss and elected to bowl first. Shivamogga Lions came to bat first and Dhruv Prabhakar and Nihal Ullal added 30 runs for the opening stand. Prabhakar was the first to get out and Nihal Ullal got out right after the powerplay.

But in the very next ball, Prabhakar got Sisodia as he under edged one to Nihal behind the stumps. Nikin Jose and Prajwal Pavan then decided to negotiate the spinners safely. They played out the left arm tweakers in Hardik Raj and Anand Doddamani to register a partnership of 36 runs from 39 balls. Pavan scored 20 off 25.
With the team score being 49/2, Smaran Ravichandran joined the crease. Smaran played sensibly. He converted the good balls for singles and hit the bad balls for boundaries. He led the run chase from there and his 74-run stand with Nikin Jose created the difference between the teams. Jose pulled Vasuki Koushik's short ball to Darshan MB to depart for 40 but Smaran reached to his fifty. He remained unbeaten on 53 and Praveen Dubey finished it off with a boundary with 3 overs to spare.
