Player Bio

In the bustling cricketing hub of Bengaluru, a young left-hander named Smaran Ravichandran has been turning heads with his fearless strokeplay and cool-headedness.

This Karnataka prodigy, a dynamic batsman and occasional right-arm off-spinner, has carved a niche with his hunger for runs. Smaran’s journey began at seven, when his parents enrolled him at Vultures Cricket Club to channel his boundless energy. His talent blazed through a triple century, double century, and century in the 2018 Under-16 KSCA tournament, hinting at a run-laden future.

Smaran’s senior career sparked on August 15, 2024, in the Maharaja T20 Trophy, where he smashed an unbeaten 104 for Gulbarga Mystics.

His first-class debut followed on October 11, 2024, against Madhya Pradesh, and by January 2025, he was rewriting records. A double century (203 off 277) against Punjab in the Ranji Trophy and a match-defining 101 off 92 in the Vijay Hazare Trophy final powered Karnataka to their fifth title. Boasting 516 first-class runs at 64.50 and 433 List A runs at 72.16, his stats reflect remarkable consistency.

Though unsold at the IPL 2025 auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad snapped him up in April 2025 as Adam Zampa’s replacement, offering a platform to showcase his flair. As Smaran strides onto bigger arenas, his elegant drives and steely resolve signal the rise of a star destined to light up Indian cricket for years to come.
